Dell Latitude 7410 dead and amber light as long power button is pressed.
      by Andreasbest
      Hello.
I received a bios locked 7410 with 25Q256JVEQ ,i dump the bios, unlocked it and flash it back, since then the laptop has no life signs at all except amber led on for as long the power button is pressed, nothing else.
Fact #1 i was unaware that 25Q256JVEQ is 3.3v and i used a 5v CH341A to program it, not sure if the chip got damaged but since then i can read it and write it normally, doesn't seem dead.
Fact #2 i modded the CH341A to 3.3v, same results with programming though, nothing changed.
Fact #3 i tried hard reset with cmos/main battery disconnected and power...

bug of the month: write caching setting for the hard drive in device manager
      by ChaosLegionnaire
i recently bought a new wd re4 2tb with 2014 datecodes. when i got around to testing it tho in victoria hd tester, the write speed was very slow at 14 mb/s with a 256 sector transfer size. when i increased the transfer size to 1024 sectors, the write speed increased slightly to 44 mb/s. read speeds and sector verify speeds were fine and at normal speeds.

so i just ass-u-med the drive's poor performance was due to it being an advanced format drive and i was using it on winxp. when i tried cloning my system disk to this wd re4 2tb drive and writing to it in linux, the write speed...

      Elitebook 840 G8 bios corrupted?
      by lleg0
      Hello,

After unsuccessfully trying to unlock password on 840 G8, i ordered from ebay new chips from ******** user
      1. He sent me first set of chips, correctly soldered them and laptop would not turn on.
      2. i backed up my original chips (laptop would boot but bios locked) using CH341A, chips still soldered down on motherboard (maybe first mistake);
      3. I was unsuccessfull trying to unlock with RC Unlocker (Wrong chip, try reading and unlocking 16MB chip)
      4. Same chip provider told me to try write ''unlocked data'' to OEM chips >> no luck
      5. Tried to...

HP T740 thin client BIOS dump?
      by Greg_E
I bought a bunch of HP T740 thin clients cheap because the BIOS was locked, I figured I could unlock them, but looks like I need a little help. I looked over both sides of the board, and the only chip that might be what I need is locked in a socket, a Winbond 25x128. I did not find another chip that looked like it could be a password eeprom like some other HP devices (Elite Desk 600 g6 which I was able to fix).

So lacking the pins I need to adapt my EZP2019, I tried the Windows BIOS installer and the copy to fix other computers option. It did give me a 16MB .bin file. When I dropped...

      Panasonic CF-D1NW200TZ BIOS Issue
      by ahmedmph
      Greetings All

I have Panasonic CF-D1NW200TZ, it has MX25l12873F BIOS that is protected with password which I want to remove, I made backup with AFUWINGUIx64 and removed password but could not write it to the BIOS again due to some errors coming, so I used CH341A programmer to read the full BIOS data on board and then I deleted the password, then i wrote back the unlocked BIOS file using CH341A, removed protection, then did full erase , then blank check and write, then verify
all are ok, but tablet refuse to start now, it is just showing power and WIFI LED, nothing more, no...
