Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Just to check out, cover switch held in, cmos battery out, laptop battery out, HDD out > read bios > patch bios > write again > laptop starts normally, i get Lenovo logo, I press 'Enter', then I press F1 to enter setup, screen is powered on but remains black;
If i try to go to Hardware diagnostics, everything is ok
If i try to go to manual boot menu > black screen again. What am I missing?
Pre-patched bios I get fanspin 10 seconds then 2x...Last edited by lleg0; 03-03-2023, 05:50 PM.

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
I am in the same situation like you up to a point. With patched bios I get Lenovo screen, I press Enter at the ''interrupt start'' message. Then I press F1 to enter setup but I get black screen. I don't have any OS installed on my hard drive, do you have any suggestion?...

Re: Elitebook 840 G8 bios corrupted?
Sorry for the double post but as promised here's my update:
I have eventually successfully bring this bad boy back to life;
Tips for other newbies like me:
* Get/borrow a hot air soldering station;
* you can use CH341A to read both bios and EC rom, however to write on it you have to desolder it. At least in my case it seems other components interfere with writing
* A better sollution is to get an EZP2023+ programmer (20$) + WSON8 adapter from aliexpress (5$);
* Backup EC ROM. Backup again. Make sure both backups...

Re: Elitebook 840 G8 bios corrupted?
i will try again with original chip rewritten with miansh621 file and then with send chip. I'll update this thread;

Re: Elitebook 840 G8 bios corrupted?
I haven't used clamp as it is not possible here, we soldered jump wires to each pin initially; Then we used heat gun to remove and replace; All components are there;
In the end, are both chips needed to be patched or just the one placed at 45 degrees on back? (EC i guess)...

Elitebook 840 G8 bios corrupted?
Hello,
After unsuccessfully trying to unlock password on 840 G8, i ordered from ebay new chips from ******** user
1. He sent me first set of chips, correctly soldered them and laptop would not turn on.
2. i backed up my original chips (laptop would boot but bios locked) using CH341A, chips still soldered down on motherboard (maybe first mistake);
3. I was unsuccessfull trying to unlock with RC Unlocker (Wrong chip, try reading and unlocking 16MB chip)
4. Same chip provider told me to try write ''unlocked data'' to OEM chips >>...Last edited by SMDFlea; 11-15-2022, 11:56 AM.

Lenovo X250 20CL - need bios password
Hello,
I have this badboy around for some years and now i randomly found a screen for it;
If i press Enter at bios password screen it says ok but i think this is not admin/supervisor password as i cannot change almost any setting;
I tried patching the bios file with lenovo_autopatcher but it doesn't boot with it;
Bin attached (checked, read it a few times, boots when flashing it back so it is not corrupted)
Thanks!...
