Re: A1398 2015 9 beeps ? Efi bios ?
Is it 3 short, 3 long, 3 short? If so, then yes might be corrupt firmware.
You need to find the board number first, it's usually down the bottom on the LHS (e.g. 820-00138). You have to match up the firmware from the board, you should be able to get a donor from the BIOS group (if there isn't one you can request it). You will have to edit in your serial number and fix the checksum in the Fsys block.
I usually take the chip off and put in my reader to program. I think there are some sellers on eBay that sell pre-programmed chips.Comment

ok i bought the usb programmer took out the bios chip and soldered it on the board but before i plug it in the pc i noticed pin 2 3 4 all have continuity with each other? is that normal? i adjusted the ic it was a little off as u can see in the pic. If ic is bad and cant read anything off of it , where can i download full dump for this particular board? i know its a 2015 MBP thats it lol no EMC bc the back cover is not original so not printed on it.Comment

Re: A1398 2015 9 beeps ? Efi bios ?
The middle of the chip is metal and is likely shorting onto the pads. Centre the chip and retry.
As I said previously you need to identify the board number first as far as donor BIOS goes, and then request (or find one) in the BIOS group on Badcaps.

Dumps are available in this thread for that board:

Piernov has an a video on YT on how to edit it in and update your checksum in the Fsys block using the UEFItool and a hex editor (I use HxD). Your serial is at offset 00D9006F BTW.

Long story short:
- dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
- gave the computer to his son a couple years later
- son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
- too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)
He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8... -
by thxd43Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.
I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.
The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a... -
My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
- I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this
