Hello,
im having a Dell G3 15 3590 (P89F001, servicetag JFJ5MT2) here without a Display assembly / LCD panel.
but when turning it on it blinks 2,7 - display failure.
after buying a 40pin edp cable, i attached a display from my HP laptop but it still wont do anything.
still 2,7 blinks, display stays off. even with the PowerON + D display test.
my plan was to use it without a built in display for a project that has a external one.
it wont boot with a hdmi display or usb-c displayport dock attached too.
i also couldnt find a edid dump of a dell approved display so i could hook up a eDP to DVI/HDMI adaptor with a dummy plug containing the EDID. (which i probably have to build my own)
i tried flashing several bios files from threads i found here but none of them changed its behaviour.
i dumped the bios and used AMIBCP to edit to maybe turn off ePSA or whatever is doing the preboot checking, but flashing it only caused the 3,6 blink code (bios invalid), probably wrong hash. no idea how to do it properly.
i also tried removing Resistor R615 (CFG4, eDP enable/disable) indicated by the Dell G3 3590 Wistron Selek CFL-H 18225-1 schematic to turn off the eDP port entirely. didnt work aswell.
Does anyone know a solution i could try?
