Hello forum.
I have in my repair shop a weird ASUS TUF F15 FX506.
Mainboard DABKXFMBAC0.

Customer states that he was gaming and the laptop started to randomly freeze in the game and then turned off by itself. Upon powering it on again there was no image.

Checked all the power rails, and CPU vcore is missing. No shorts on the mosfets. Cpu Vcore is created by Intersil 95880, but I can't find a full datasheet for it and no free schematic for the laptop. Has anyone encountered this problem? any sugestions?

First check vccsa/1.8v/1.05v rail are working or not

All rails present except CPU Vcore

Is it a intel board? Then check for +VCC_SA first. Otherwise try to find logic rail for SVID, so clock and data, and especially ALERT# and check the voltages there.

If VCC_SA is present, then CPU Vcore is activated by the CPU itself via the SDA, Alert and SCLK data lines (VIDSOUT, VIDALERT, VIDSCLK) to the ISL chip. On the ISL95828 on the Intel MAC's, these are on pins 43, 44 and 45 respectively; perhaps Renesas used the same pinout on the newer chip. Faults in this area are usually CPU damage unfortunately, especially since this is a gaming laptop.

Can't say I'm a fan of gamer laptops. They just die from excessive heat.
