What are the markings on the logic board ?

Link or post the schematic if available on this forum.

Are you using the official power adapter for this laptop ?

Are the batteries known good units ?

Can you read the battery charge cycles, details of the battery pack in Windows?

I don't think the schematic is available so...

power down -> review the logic board -> locate the DCin connector.

Review the usual 2 x DCin mosfets near this connector. What are the markings on these parts ?

Near these parts will be the charger IC with 'BQ' or similar markings.

What are the markings on the charger IC ?

Often the fault you have raised are linked to the DCin mosfets. We need confirm if they are defective or not using resistance checks.

With no power -> meter in resistance mode -> check the resistance of each mosfet as follows:

      source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
      source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
      gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

post each measurement and the scale used on your meter for these tests. If the resistance is low, the mosfet is defective and must be replaced.

There is a possibility that the host logic board is unable to detect the battery which is linked to the SDA & SCL lines on the battery connector. We need to check the voltage on these pins. If the voltage is low, then the I2C interface (SDA & SCL) may be defective so the charger IC gives up on charging.

      Start with the mosfet review.

PS: Post clear pictures if in doubt of the logic board details. Most of these logic boards are designed in the same way..

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
          by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.

how to prevent a connected charger from draining battery when not charging?
          by flat-earther
I have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.

but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.

          How can I prevent...

I have a macboook air a1466 that stopped charging the battery.

FX516PR not charging on DC charger (but charging on Type-C)
          by pc_okay
          Hello friends,

I have this board not charging with charger, working fine on battery and type-C charger.

Here what if found: my IC chip miss VCC so i follow the line P_CHG_VCC_30 (0V) to P_CHG_VCC_R_30 (0v) and i get 20V A/D_DOCK_IN.
I loose my 20V on the PQ9009, i think it's dead because it's a P-Channel and I get 0V on gate and 20V on source and finally 0V on drain.

          Am I right?
