Aliexpress is great for the parts / LCD, etc. While we have had good luck with battery sourcing as well, shipping laws may delay or restrict the importing of batteries to your region (fire hazard). Locally we have Moble Sentrix and love their service. You probably have someone local to you or you can try Amazon. The benefit of Amazon is that you can return the part as customer is #1 (even when they are wrong). As a reseller on Amazon, we have been scammed many times with 'did not receive the goods'. In one case, found out the customer is in an apartment and their front desk concierge signed for the parcel. We contacted the concierge, who repeated that the customer is well aware of this same procedure to receive goods. We mentioned that a police case will be filed - customer backed off immediately.

Try this store - the ratings and sales volume are high. It is faster to source from Amazon if the vendor has stock closer to you but sometimes, even the Amazon vendor is in China or elsewhere.

        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3291...d=bK6S4BWhAnih

Post your updates here. Our experience, in general, has been very positive with Aliexpress and Alibaba vendors. Open dialog is important to be sure you are buying the proper product. Be sure to confirm this before ordering.

Ask them again, what is the warranty and policy if the battery does not work. If you are finding repeated faults with the battery sourcing then the issue may be with your charging circuit / logic board so that should also be reviewed. That is, not every battery will be crap.

We purchased the same tool when we thought we had a bad batch of battery packs.

Post the details on how you are using this tool to conclude if the pack is defective or of quality or not.

For us, the true fault was with charging circuit of the logic board.

you always incounter this type of issue? sometimes battery wont be detected but can be detected with nlba tools, im very new in this type of tool. I just only use the autocycle to determine its real capacity. If the batetry is labeld 2900mah but tools detected a 2500mah that for me is good. but if battery is detected with 1800mah that's a bad sign. Also checking the cells check cability of the tool. if its good cells, poor, or bad. Sometimes it detected a poor cells but capacity is in good value it can be sold to the customer.

No it's not great. Insane amount of fake, counterfeit or low quality products as well as used or already broken products advertised as new.
Sometimes you don't even receive the product you have ordered.
If you open a dispute, sometimes it goes through easily, and sometimes you won't win whatever you do, and it's always a huge waste of time.
Also language barrier is an issue, and most sellers do not care about what they sell.
It's only a solution because lots of stuff cannot be found elsewhere.
Some sellers may not be too bad, but that's definitely not all of them, and even then it doesn't mean that every product they sell is good, far from that.

For some products the market is so bad that it's very difficult to find a reliable source, batteries are probably among the worst offender.

Try Mobile Sentrix who has their HQ in the USA. They are shipping internationally. We have purchased our batteries and assorted parts for repair from them many times and without issues. They also will take back returns without penalities. Review their website for more information.

If purchasing semiconductor parts, post the requests here and can share from where we have purchased our inventory from in Asia.

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
                        by the_rem
                        Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

                        Hello,

I have tried myself but I have problem looking in chineese for parts at least what is laser marked here doesn't help me to even find someone from china selling that IC. I have managed to find SOT23-6 power IC which also is burned. For my guess it's probably DC-DC converter of some kind when plugged with known good LCD what comes extremely hot first is SOT23-6 power chip which I have managed to find at Ali and order like 50 of them. For some suggestion this board works from type C PD power supply 20V input.

I could buy another board, they are not particularily expensive...

                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                        Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
                        by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

Recently I purchased a Tektronix TDS1012, a 20 years old product for cheap and I thought it could be a nice opportunity for playing (i.e. recapping) and learn something in the process.
The power supply board is exactly the same from this post so I'll just steal it for now.
