Acer vx5-591G I removed Mosfet and it works without it?! could it cause problem?
        by ipn00tic
        Hello everybody,

I'm learning alone at home (with you) of course.

I have an Acer VX5-591G laptop that was given to me as scrap where I was training and diagnosing.

The Laptop turns on and starts to boot for a few seconds but before displaying any image it short circuits the main 19V power supply and turns off.

I managed to "repair" the laptop and it turns on and everything works, I even did game tests for the CPU and GPU and everything works but what I did was remove a Mosfet (PQ807) from the VCC_GT power supply.
        The VCC_GT power...

        ACER PEW71 LA-5894P CPU_B+ MOSFET NEED HEPL
        by jermac0711
        Brand : Acer
        MOBO: PEW71 LA-5894P
Issue: initially no power. PQ73 mosfet is busted. (AO4466) . Unit has power now but PQ87 is heating up too much (observerd under thermal camera) causing to shut down the system. I tried to remove the removable CPU and the mosfet temperature went normal. I have a replacement CPU from same model but everytime there's a CPU, mosfet PQ87 temperature is rising rapidly.
I hope you guys can shed some light. Thank you so much in advance.

I purchased this laptop from fb marketplace

and the previous tech jumped 1st mosfet. maybe it got fix, then time comes by jumpering fried the charging ic?

tried to change mosfet but it does nothing 19v is not passing through 1st mosfet

tried to jumper again, I got 5vlp and 3vlp but 5valw and 3valw is missing

I suspect that the charging ic is bad? If so how do i test if it is bad.

Cant see any short or corrosions on board
