    SM P-900,what charger to use?

    Hi guys.
Got myself this very old tablet and works like a charm.
    I'm so happy.
But I got it without charger,I thought I could use charger which came with my Galaxy Note 2014 Edition (5.3 V, 2.9A) but as you can see it's 2.9A and uses micro USB cable not micro USB 3.0 B-cable like for SM P-900 and it's 2.9 Amps not 2 Amps.
So can I just interchange cables and use that charger with USB Micro-B cable?
I will send you pictures later on,from charger and cable
If nothing,I can charge the tablet via PC,correct?
Micro B USB 3.0 cable was very difficult to find,I purchased one but it's not Samsung genuine one.

Yes, all USB based designs can charge with a normal cable and normal (PC) USB port.

The black insulator USB ports on a PC can support upto 500mA (peak) - although some (many) motherboards rarely offer protection against this spec. Adapters - forget it - reviewed about 10 and NONE had any form of current protection.

The blue insulator USB ports on a PC can support upto 900mA (peak) as per USB 3.0 spec.

Either way, your tablet will charge but will do so slowly as compared to the official Samsung charger which will be a 'rapid charger' if used with their adapter & cable.

It should be quite common to source an adapter that can support 2.4A on the USB port style so check your local cell phone shop and note the spec. That will be very close to your Samsung spec.

Here is the charger I got with my Galaxy Note 2014 Edition (pics above).
Can I use the same charger for SM P-900 but only interchange to micro-B USB 3.0 cable to use with the charger?
Besides this charger is 2.9Amps not 2A required by P900.

Yes, you can use a higher current charger on a lower current load (your tablet). This just means you are able to supply higher current to the load but the load will only consume 2A.

Be sure the connectors are the same for your tablet which appears to be a USB 3.0 - ironically repairing a logic board with the SAME connector right now - it is loose on the PCB.

Oh okay so regarding current I'm good to go,what about interchangeble cables.
The one which came with charger is micro usb 2.0 and I'd need for P900 cable from picture which on the one side is usb 3.0 and other USB Micro-B type.
Can I plug that cable without issues to to the charger and charge P900?

I hope we don't missunderstanding each other.
So for P900 I would need to use usb 3.0 cable, non genuine one (middle picture) and plug in the charger which was used for Galaxy Note 2014 edition (micro usb connector on one end,on other USB 2.0 not 3.0).

                See attached.

                1) You will need a new cable.

Search for 'USB 2.0 A to micro B cable. Do note that the micro B connector is a keyed connector - it will only go in one way so be careful during this use.

Amazon and your local cell phone shop will carry these.

                2) Attached is a screen pic of a cable that is used for your unit. Compare it against the connector on your tablet.

                3) This cable will work fine with the charger you already have to charge the tablet.

Yes, you can use the USB 3.0 Micro B cable on the USB 2.0 charger adapter.

From my internet search, your tablet is with a USB 2.0 micro B but you will know better since it is in your possession. If the USB 3.0 Micro B connector fits, you can use it.

Yep,but on the other end (which plugs to the charger) it's USB 3.0 not USB 2.0 (genuine adapter which came with Note 2014 edition).
                      But that doesn't matter,right?

Correct. Does not matter. You are not using this cable for data transfer and the adapter does not have such pins for the higher speed data transfer.

Only the Vbus & ground pins are being used for the USB 2.0 & USB 3.0 connector pins and this charger.

Out of curiousity what would happen to tablet if I was using 5V charger not 5.3V?

Cuz all of my chargers are universal 5V.

                              by paparazzo79
Hi guys.I needed charger for my phone but could not find original one which is blackview 6600 pro.
I purchased the chinese one same specs but none of the cables is included.
So does it matter when charging the phone over that charger what cable do I use (micro usb or type c)?
I'd need to use type C, I suppose I can use type C because none ofthe cables is included.

                              Hi all, please

I just want to make a "usb c" charging cable from 5V power supply (have cut cable w/ red black green and white pins connected from factory.... i just want to use 500mah max !

How do I connect this ? if I do not have CC1 /2 physically wired, how to proceed?

NOTE: an identical new (not cut) USB A to USB C cable charges my phone but not the remote control!

here is a picture of the remote, the cable to be used and a picture of what are the factory connected pins

                              thanks in advance!!

                              Hello,
I'm working on a Lenovo T460 that has been having trouble charging as of late. Its worked well since I've owned it for a few years. When I went to use it the other day it was dead and wouldn't turn on (was sitting on an Anker 65W GaN charger). After some fiddling with the charger I got it to turn on and start charging, but seemed like the charger was not working as it should (took a few plug and unplug cycles to get it to start charging).

A day later it was dead again and wouldn't boot/charge no matter what I did. No lights or anything when...
