DELL LAITITUDE E6230 turn on only 5 seconds

Hi my friends, I hope someone can spare a minute to help me troubleshoot a dell latitude e6230 (la-7731p rev 1.0) motherboard where the engine starts 5 seconds then turns off again and doesn't show anything on the screen.

thank you very much if anyone can help me with this problem.

What is the history of this computer?

    Original power adapter?

Does it behave the same with battery?

Remove the battery, test with adapter only.

Remove the memory and test again. Does the logic board remain on ?

Not in front of my database of schematics but is it available for this logic board? If available on this forum, link it.

You can also try to reset the cmos battery and parameters. This is usually a coin cell battery that depletes over time and has to be replaced. Often, CR2032 but you can check.

Thank you for taking your time to reply to this post, unfortunately this motherboard came with the condition already detached from the casing and there are no other components besides ram and HSF, I have tried it with new ram but the result is still the same. and i can't find the skematik for this board revision

        1) Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode (2k). Check the resistance to ground for each coil. Looking for any very low resistance values which may note a shorted capacitor which is causing the power supply rail to shut down, for safety reasons.

Post any low resistance values. Some rails may be normal, even with the low resistance reading.

        2) Found the schematic in my paid service - encrypted of course but see the attached charger portion.

Check and post the voltage readings for what you can read when the power rail is on. Start with the left side of the charger circuit.

When the logic board turns off, do you see voltages at the first mosfet ? How far does the voltage travel ?

Expecting to hear that the DCIN adapter voltage is still present, whether ON or OFF.

this measurement uses 2K . mode

Do not see the mosfet voltage readings. Please see and post the attached voltage readings for these points.

These look like good voltage readings.

                  See attached.

Measure & post the voltages for the high and low side mosfets for the switching power supply.

Measure first without battery, then with battery.

Do you see this ~19V remain on after the 5 seconds ? Or does this rail also turn OFF after 5 seconds ?

no bro, this 19v voltage is still there even though the engine is 5 seconds off

                          by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

I just recieved a working laptop for a quick dc port swap, i tested the laptop on battery it worked, tested dc port issue felt loose, so disassembled the laptop and removed battery connector, swapped the dc port, re-connected the battery connector, inserted dc pin, white led glowed up - stable, pressed power switch, but it didn't turn on, no fan spin and no display. just 1 white led that glows up, doesn't move to orange (charging), i check voltage (battery : 11.37v) (dc input port : 19.3v)(bios : 1.75), i am stumped, there is no shorting on board.

                          Hi everyone,
I was giving this ASUS ROG G750JM that exhibit the following behavior:
When you press the power button, the computer turns with no image and turn it's off within 7 seconds. The battery charges when I connect the AC power. I tried flashing the bios with the uSB method and pressing Ctrl + Home and I can see the bios upgrade on external monitor.
My issue is the laptop doesn't stay on for a long time and turn itself off.
Any lead on how to resolve this will be appreciated.
I cannot boot in windows and no liquid damage.

                          Thanks in advance.

                          by Nagyesz
I have a Dell laptop with me, a DELL inspiron 13 5379. It doesn't turn on. After some investigation, I found that the charger is delivering 0-3V instead of 19.5V, and this voltage fluctuates constantly. Additionally, two ICs are overheating. I searched for these ICs, and it seems they are likely related to the issue of not having 19V.
Should I inject voltage somewhere, or should I replace the ICs right away?

So, PU4301 is overheating, and the surrounding area is hot, possibly just because of this IC.
