Identifiying this component on a ASUS X512JA board

    Identifiying this component on a ASUS X512JA board

    Hi,

    I have what a X512JA with no backlight. This is caused by the screen not getting any voltage on the backlight pins. This IC, which I believe is a load switch, is not taking the Vin and sending it to Vout. Vin in this instance, being the AC or Batt, and Vout being the rail going directly to the 4 backlight pins on the edp connector.


    I believe the markings on the first line is W07T, second line 2176.

    I would like more information on this IC, or a boardview if available (I have looked for this speicfic model and could not find it. I also looked for boardviews of other ASUS models, but could not find one with the same backlight circuit)

    Pins:
    1 - Vin (AC or batt, it's at 19V with AC plugged in)
    2 - (Not sure)
    3 - GND
    4 - Ven (or I believe at least, it's at 3.3V)
    5 - (Not sure, it seems to have a 200k pull-down to GND)
    6 - Vout (When the laptop gets plugged in, this pin goes from about 4.5V, up to 6.5V, until it drops down to 2V, while the pin I premuse to be Ven stays constant at 3.3V)

    To test, I bypassed the IC using the jumper pads above it to test the backlight, and it did in fact work properly.

    Thank you very much for any information you have on this IC, the board for this model, or a board with a similar circuit for the backlight.

      I love the guess, thank you very much. Unfortunately, as pin 1 is at +19V, it is not plausible per the specified absolute maximum ratings in the datasheet. Thank you again, it's much appreciated.

        I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

        Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

        I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

        The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

        With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        I have this very stubborn ASUS mobo on the bench, and I already face the wall with it. It just refuses to POST, although everything seems to be OK.

        The situation looks like this:

        After connecting the board to the power supply on Nuvoton (SLP_S3#, pin 64), the Low signal (50 ohm resistance) appears immediately. PWRNTN# signal goes through Nuvoton to the chipset (confirmed after removing the chipset). The following conditions are then met for the chipset to generate the SLP_S3# signal:

        1. RTC oscillates normally (32.768KHz).

        Hi,
        I recently bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard that was listed as "dead, not powering on." However, it does show some signs of life. I've performed several basic measurements and would like to share the results.
        • The board enters a "ready to power on" state after plugging in the PSU.
        • Pressing the power button increases power draw.
        • Sometimes, touching the RSMRST_L pad with a multimeter probe causes the board to shut off and return to standby.

        Hi everyone,
        I am trying to learn electronics repair. I purchased a “faulty for spares/repairs” ASUS X99-PRO/ USB 3.1 motherboard for a very low price from ebay – a good enough price to offset the high probability that the board was completely toast and not realistically repairable.
        Initial results:
        Board would power-cycle when turned on either with switch on board or shorting pwr pins. Fan would spin for a second or so and a QCODE of 00 would display then it would power off and then do the same thing again over and over. I think maybe 2 times in about 100 attempts...
