    Macbook 820-3330 burned Smc /Compatibility

So upon checking this 2012 820-3330 motherboard I find short with freezespray at SMC u4900 very hot.
    Motherboard as dim green light.

since SMC has burn mark when I remove should I check certain contacts for short that would prevent new smc from working properly?

    Can I use a 2012 13" 820-3115 SMC from donor ?

Looking for 13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012 820-2565-A Schematics and Board View
    by Rezendes
Hello, I am looking for any and all files related to the mainboard for 820-2565-A (13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012) schematics/board view.

I looked through forum search results and google and was unable to find a board view file, I found a pdf of all the schematics but I don't know where the parts physically are on the board as this is my first macbook board level repair attempt.

The macbook charger has a green light, the battery has been replaced and OS reports Normal status but Not charging. After cleaning a corroded capacitor it crumbled off the board. There...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
    by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

    MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...

by using board ID has Default name, give us the opportunity,
to use other diode board data with sibling board or family board
I Merged the whole data (optimal)

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
    by envym
    Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

A1990 MacBook Pro Burned via repair
    by jma46
Hi I have been replacing a Touch Bar connector as the laptop had suffered liquid damage and some on the contacts have burned (A1990 MacBook Pro). Some on the connection points have disappeared (burned away) all that is left is a tiny dot to solder too. Also have another similar damaged via on the PP5V_3GS rail which is linked to a lot of rails on this board. Again there is a tiny dot which I think is the via to attach too, can these be repaired and built back up to a pad? Is it wise to dig down carefully in the layers to get a good solder connection and build back up with solder paste? just wondering...
