Noob here trying to troubleshoot a
Lenovo
IdeaPad S540-15iwl
Model: 81NE
CPU: Intel i5-8265U
GPU: UMA
RAM: 8GB removable 4GB Soldered on (12GB total)
Storage NVME
Bios Version APCN38WW
Sticker on Motherboard:
FRU5B20S42213
911
8S5B2042213HBDG9AY118P
---
The system cannot boot with Battery connected new & old battery
The system cannot restart, CTRL+ALT+DELETE does not work in bios either however saving a setting in the bios and exiting will reboot the laptop.
What I've done so far:
Bios update (from Lenovo's support page) [No Change]
Replaced battery [No Change]
Disconnected Primary & CMOS Battery, left unplugged for a week. [No Change]
Removed Wifi card [No Change]
Disconnected Fingerprint module [No Change]
Removed SSD/NVME [No Change]
Removed Ram that can be removed [No Change]
I also tried to connect the battery after it has booted up. This causes the system to, hard freeze, sometimes immediately sometimes up to 5 minutes.
Powering on, connecting battery, then disconnecting PSU- Still freezes.
The system will still shut down by holding the power button for 6 seconds.
Does anyone have a solution?
