    820-01041 cycling

Hello everybody and I hope you all doing well!

I have a 820-01041 on me that shows the Apple logo for a second and it shuts off immediately.. I cannot boot into recovery OS even.

When I turn on and hold the alt key it remains on forever, when its asked to into Macintosh HD it shuts down again.

T2 revive was attempted and did not help (restore didn't work).

The computer turns on taking 20V with up to 1.2A for a couple of minutes then drops to 0.02A and again..

This is a weird one because no prior liquid damage or corrosion anywhere.. the computer is just squeaky clean.

I'm suspecting a bad T2 chip but I wanted some advice and to be honest I don't know where to start with this one!

    I appreciate every help!

    Thanks

I don't know for this one exactly, but some newer boards with dGPU require a known good battery to boot fully into macOS.

Hello everybody, I could use some help on this one... It's got me guessing...
I took pictures of all the boards and the pin out of the connector on the power supply that goes to the main board... I measured all the pins in relation to chassis ground, here are the result.

      (B13v)1. 12.7 volts cycling (Vamp) 2. 12.7 volts cycling
      (B13v)3. 12.7 volts cycling (PWM5) 4. 1.0 volts cycling
      (OD_LE)5. 2.8 volts cycling (PWM4) 6. 0.9 volts cycling
      (OD_ON)7. 2.8 volts cycling (PWM3) 8. 0.9 volts cycling
      9. ground (PWM2) 10. 0.9 volts cycling...

      Hi all

There's two other threads about this monitor with seemingly the same problem. The problem was resolved in one case by replacing the entire PSU board and in the second one by replacing an unknown IC.

The first one has pictures of the pcbs and I noticed that there's one IC and assorted caps not populated on mine (but the PCB itself looks identical) so I thought that'd warrant a new thread.

It's my dad's old monitor. He...

SO i turn the laptop on , and as soon as it starts booting from disk, from usb, windows, linux,HBCD,anything i boot it just turns off....while in bios menu or in linux boot menu it stays on normally...It's like when it starts to use graphics it shuts down...But i measured 0.72V while working on the GPU power line,no excess heat is comming from GPU or CPU, i even removed the heatsink and turned the laptop on and everything worked fine, got a bit hot, fan span to full speed, but it worked like that for few minutes in bios...

MacBook A2141 one USB port dead and one power cycling
      by dbuergi
      Hi all,

I got a 16inch MacBook Pro showing 5v and 0,3a on the left ports and right side has one power cycling and one showing nothing. The one cycling shows 30c under thermal camera. Surrounding components show no corrosion or any shorts.
Any ideas what to check next? The whole board looks clean compared to the other A2141s i saw....

A2141 820-01700 Power cycling (DFU worked ok)
      by mon2
Hi. Working on an A2141 that is power cycling. Powers up fine (20V @ 3.1A peak) -> fan spins ok and then at a higher speed (after we removed the trackpad so the sensors are missing) -> chimes ok but after the high fan spin -> power cycles and repeats this loop. We did manage to DFU the unit with revive mode (4/4 steps completed ok) -> resulted in a brief padlock graphic before power cycling. Unable to toggle the keycaps led since the boot does not reach this far of the cycle.

Q: Does the DFU process validate that the nand flash is OK ? We do not wish to restore this board...
