    Acer E5-571G discrete to UMA

    Hello guys,

    I have a laptop Acer model E5-571G-5RG with motherboard LA-B991P rev. 1.0 turning on and off after around 3 seconds.

    I have PCH_SLP_S3#, PCH_SLP_S4#, PCH_SLP_S5# signals going up to 2.3 V and suddenly down to 0.

    I suspect, after some investigations, nvidia card is faulty (I can hear a soft sound seem to come from that chip) so I would like to convert motherboard from discrete to UMA just to confirm my suspect or not.

    Anyone of you knows how to do it? I found nothing about that for this motherboard...

      Try removing the graphic power coils. There are two of them. Remove both of them.

          Hi. I have bought a computer from ebay. It is in an Acer Nitro 50 case but was described as NOT being an Acer Nitro. I can find no manufacturer name on the motherboard but it is marked B66H6-AD which makes me believe it is the Acer motherboard that came with the case. It has an Intel Core i3-12100F processor, 16Gb of RAM and an AMD RX560 graphics card.
          My question is regarding the chip shown circled in the attached picture. I believe this might be the PCH but should it have a heatsink on it? If so, what kind and where can I get one?
          I have seen the PC working but I am reluctant to...

          Hi,

          I am trying to fix an Acer Aspire 5542. Upon turning it on, the fan starts to spin for a few seconds and then it stops. I hear no beeps from the speaker. I have no image both on the laptop screen and through VGA and HDMI connectors.

          I measured voltages, and it seems all power supplies are OK. There are 5V, 3.3V (BIOS), 1.8V (RAM), and 1.1V (VCORE).

          I tried to read the BIOS using a CH341A programmer, but it did not detect the chip. I took the BIOS chip away from the motherboard, and then the CH341A detected the chip, and I was able to read the code. However,...
