Need some help to identify some resistors in a 15" 2011 MacBook pro

    Hello everyone.

I've screwed my mac. After the ati gpu failed, i've done the uefi var trick & resistor removal from realmacmods and everything was working fine, apart from the no backlight after suspend.

By stupidity i decided to do the last part, shorting the cap and the resistor, near the backlight controller. That was a mistake. I have a condition that makes my hands shake like hell when i'm tired or nervous, so you can guess what happened : i've knocked out a couple of resistors.

Can someone please tell me the values of the resistors pointed by the arrows in the picture ?

    TIA

Relax. The resistors are not difficult to source. Arrow should have them. We have done a few mods like these and recall sending donations to the author of this fix.

Can you post your logic board number?

    Should be 820-xxxx format.

It will help to locate the schematic and boardview files. Very likely the files are posted on this forum already.

Ok - I believe you have a 820-2915 logic board?

This is an A1286 15" I7 CPU ? Please review the attached and confirm.

Ok # 2 - The parts are very common. Do you still have the lost parts or perhaps not? If they are no longer available at your desk, the 0 ohm can be just a solder blob short if you wish.

Arrow has these parts since they are so common. If you share your shipping address via a private message, can drop ship them to you. We have free shipping with Arrow in North America and believe also in Europe. Can confirm the details once you send the info. We want to test out the free shipping to Europe which they list as a bonus to our company account.

    The parts are dirt cheap.

    0 ohm 0402

    33 ohm 0402 5%

    100 ohm 0201 1%

As noted, they are not critical parts in value. Please confirm the PCB layout which appears to be match your picture.

      Hello.

Thank you very much and sorry for not beeing more specific. You are correct about the model, it's that one.

The damn things are so small that i've lost track off them. I'll just scrap them from a dead laptop board.

I'm just curious about one thing. Prior to asking for help, google led me to some board view files, but that doesn't show it's values. Are the files that i've found incomplete or are there other files that show's it ?

      Once again, a million thanks.

Hi. Yes, you downloaded the boardview file which offers only the parts placement.

You can download both from here:
