    Request for UP1909QND8 Chip

    Hello,

I need help with UP1909QDN8 and UP1909PDN8 ICs.

The manufacturer is uPI Semiconductors Corp. There are datasheets available for some other ICs from uPI; but, I could not find datasheets for these 2 ICs.

    Thank you.

    Warm Regards,

For what do you need Datasheet, If you have Schematics?

Aliexpress is a banned site in India now a days.

In the past (Till last year), I had ordered varied tools and material from Aliexpress. All was delivered to my home w/o any problem.

          Hello Sephir0th,

The schematic will tell me how the chip is placed in the circuit.

Datasheet will help me understand how many different circuit (Function) configurations are there for this chip and why "This" (One in schematic) has been selected for this motherboard.

          Warm Regards,

I see and understand. Perhaps you can use a free web proxy to bypass the internet block? Unless the goods from China are also being blocked, you should be ok with this solution.

                Hello Mon2,

I am setting up TOR on my machine. So, may be in a day or 2 I will be able to see alixpress again.

Last I got to know from local post office, goods from China are inordinately delayed in delivery or not reaching destinations.

There are private shippers like FedEx or DHL etc. But, their rates are exorbitant and they dump multiple charges along with custom duties. I have seen the cases in the past where for a 1 $ part, FedEx was charging 15$ for shipping to India.

                Warm Regards,

                  Hello SMDFlea,

Thank you so much for your valuable inputs.

At least it has solved one problem for me; it provided me the top view and pin configuration wrt top view. In schematic it showed a nine pin chip in circuit. On the board, I could see only 8 pins.

Checking the circuit would be a bit easy now.

                  Warm Regards,

According to the nice links shared by SMDFlea, the requested parts are not recommended for new designs (NRND).

The latest replacement is uP1965S. Datasheet is attached. This should also help to debug your current case with guidance on what is the purpose of each pin.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                        by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
                        by DynaxSC
                        Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

MSI B660M Mortar DDR4 (MS-7D42 Rev 1.1) Request for EC flash chip (W25X20CLNIG)
                        by mizuh0
Hi all I hope im doing this correctly,

I need a firmware dump for the Nuvoton NCT6687D‑M controller (EC flash chip: W25X20CLNIG) used on the MSI B660M Mortar DDR4 (MS‑7D42, revision 1.1).

I acquired a ch341a black to reflash my bios, and was so excited to use it that I tested it on the W25X20CLNIG 3.3v chip as I didn't have the 1.8v yet for the bios chip itself.

Being a total newbie I straight up corrupted the EC flash chip, and now the power button does nothing, PS_ON# does not change, and when I manually short the PS_ON# pin it immediately turns off...

ThinkPad X1C6 winbond 25q80dvsig chip dump request
                        by TamFishe
Hi, I got a ThinkPad x1 carbon 6th gen from a friend after in an attempt to fix it he ended up bricking the motherboard. today i tried plugging the laptop to the wall and i got no signs of life, despite the connections being proper. i've found out this winbond 25q80dvsig chip under a label near the usb c ports and i gave it a read, and the output has massive chunks of 0000 0000 0000 0000 followed by FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF and sometimes some proper values scattered across the whole chip. I've attached the file because I've read people request it in order to fix it. Moderators, if I've posted this...

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                        by BMCappelletti
                        Long story short:
                        - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                        - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                        - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                        - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...
