    Lenovo G50-70 on off loop with ram

    Hello

    I try to help a friend with his broken laptop and I am hoping that some one here resonises the symtoons so maybe I can fix it. I already searched the forum and read many as I could, got also the schematics, so thanks for that.

    Laptop turns on and the screen/backlight does on off repeatedly
    With ram in other socket same, but slower frequently
    With double ram even slower
    a 4gb module blicks faster then a 8gb
    with no ram there is no screen blinking
    all is the same, with battery or ac adapter.
    battery is charging
    cpu turns on after a while.

    Around PQ40 I measure some capacitor on 139 ohm, is that shorted ?

      Press down on the ram socket lightly in different places and see if the flickering stops

          tried on different places but there is no different in the blinking (speed)

              I feel a bit silly now, because I thought it had nothing to do with the bios due to the symptoms, but I was wrong. I read here on a old threat it was fixed by program a bios dump.

              That was also the case with this one !
              I lost serial number etc but assume it would not affect the performance

                  still a bit strange, disk is 100% all the time, and by do a bios update it gives a warning about no ac-adapater and low battery, what is not true ..

                      Can confirm here.
                      Just had same model with exactly same symptoms (Also different "blink speed" with 4 & 8GB RAM), flashed BIOS via programmer, all working again.

                          Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me fix my Lenovo Legion 5 (15ITH6H) laptop. Basically, after a windows update the computer would not boot anymore. When powering on the laptop the screen has no backlight and nothing would show up, using an external monitor did not help. However, the laptop would still spin up the fans and turn on the keyboard backlight. The keyboard backlight intensity function key would work and the power button led and the charging led are also working.
