Asus ROG Strix Scar II GL504GW not charging

    Greetings everyone!
Last year I bought an Asus GL504GW laptop from US and now it has a problem detecting the charger and was working fine (other than not charging of course) until the battery turned %0. Since I'm no longer in the US and don't have access to warranty services I need to somehow figure it out myself how to fix the issue (With the help of my brother - He has some knowledge about electronic stuff)
I tested the battery and the charger myself and both are fine. Then gave it to my brother to check the board and now he says the issue is from the "5E=" IC and since it has been destroyed the model cannot be completely read.

Now the first question is can this issue be from this IC?

    The second question is:

I searched for "5E=" and found it's the RT8248A model (PDF Attached below)
but since the first 2 date digits (As the 5E attached image below from the laptop motherboard) can't be read how can I find a replacement for it?
I searched local online stores and found 5E=1H R3K but can it replace my board's "5E=" IC or the "1H R3K" part matters?

Thanks in advance! Any help would be highly appreciated!

You need to find schematics first, there will be part number of that IC. I asume its charging controller ic. Tell us boards part number if you will not be able to find schematics.

Thanks for your reply. I looked around and I think I found the part number (Attached bellow):

Hmm bit confusing here. RT8248A is a ddr memory controller and not a chrging controller. You said the mb is working fine other then charging issue. If so, how can your memory controller be bad?? Btw, the first two digits are important 5E. Rest you can ignore as they are date code, manufacturing code, batch etc etc.

Hi, thanks for your replay. My brother tested the board and said it's from that IC.
Other than that the look of the IC (as attached in the first post) seems damaged as well.
I searched the forum for RT8248A and found a thread with a quite close issue:

          https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=Rt8248a

So maybe somehow that could affect the charging aspect or is it completely irrelevant?

To me it seems unrelated but since@piernov claimed that it has relation to charging circuit-cant be discarded. I admire his knowledge and clarity and we all have learnt a lot from him. Perhaps he can clarify it further but as far as my limited understanding, its not related since laptop is booting fine. A shorted 5E ic will certainly not allow the mb to post.

From that old thread x455l, as far as i can see...the ac_bat_sys line was directly connected to the P_1.35V_IN_S line, and because of that if short on P_1.35V_IN_S line it will be directly connected to ac_bat_sys line and reason for not charging...
For this motherboard gl504 there is problem that there is no schematic or boardview...so you have to check first for short on coils...if any..First try to check coil near that RT8248A..
