Can a mosfet replacement slow to 500mhz in BIOS I3

    Hello

I have a generic medion like laptop core i3 (Tcl rca is the brand) which shows 500mhz in bios at cpu speed.
I have received it with no power at all. Found it to be a mosfet in 19vol line close to the power jack and also a capacitor around the vcore which was shorted i think close to vcore power supply. I ve dound NO schematics fof it. It is a c14d motherboard rev2.

    My Question is:

I ve placed a N channel mosfet 8A which is FDS884 to replace the 10A original which is SM4839 one and also placed a similar small capacitor in place instead of the broken shroted one which cannot measure or figure out what uf is it.

So my question would be can my new mosfet or the capacitor replacement be causing this 500mhz in bios? or maybe it was a problem before comming here?

Power adapter is original and same result if pluged to my lab power supply.

    Thanks for any hint.

    Original mosfet: SM4839
    Replacement i put: FDS884

And here is the picture to the capacitor zone.

if is voltage ok than i think it is not related to fault

that FDS is way better than SM

test procesor speed in system or under load.

Thanks... nope still 500mhz stucked in bios.... i tried with temporary mosfet bridge and same results in windows and bios.... benchmarks in windows shows 488mhz... and it is an i3 2.53 ....sad..... should vcore volt the culprit? Or bios programming?

reprogram bios, check thermal sensors, voltages

          🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
          by macabook
          Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
          🧩 Initial Issue
          • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
          • External display (HDMI) shows

Help with BIOS update on Dell G15 5515 after chip replacement
          by capoplays
          Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.

The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.

When I check the BIOS using the F12 menu Flash...

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo UX8402ZA BIOS
          by pirati
          Hello everyone,

I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.

When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.

I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...

          ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
          by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
          Some issues
          A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

          Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...
