toshiba l50b wont post

because i rushed, i managed to connect speaker wire to camera's port. they both use same connector and no indicators which is which.

now laptop wont turn on, it responds to power and immediately "turns on", but black screen. CPU heatsink heats up, fan spins for few a seconds, then stops. I get orange power and white light. doesn't respond to power button. caps lock and num lock buttons lights up.

no magic smoke...

any suspects?

check the voltage of all BIG Gray coils, Bord ID ?

any picture of the port that u suspect that toast your unit. a short between vcc to ground or vcc to signal are usually fatal and may fry some chips...

Added picture. Coils have no short to ground.

Connector with the dot is for sound. Without the dot, near ram is for bezel mounted USB camera.

When I connect power, WIFI light (orange) and power light (white), lights up. Also numlock and capslock lights up, does not respond to power button. Instantly powers on, and that's it.

Added picture. Coils have no short to ground.

try to visual check the connector try to smell burned or try to power on and feel if something heating around that .. schematic diagram is not available you need to trace it.. maybe shorted ic gud luck

Good call, because i found something. A resistor. It's not shorted to ground, but it heats up 100C.

cant find it. Removed the resistor and there is no short. Pad on the left gets 3.3 volts and right pad 0.64V no short. And cant trace the source.

Cant trace the mosfet or IC, found two resistors, one on the same and other on other side. And they lead nowhere. dead end for me.

try to post to badcaps for schematics you need that to trace it.. don't give up..

Removed Mosfet, removed resistor. So i get these voltages.

can you test the resistance of the speaker connector what is the ground pin.. the speaker pin to the ground. something shorts the connection to the camera ports. and trace from there.. probably the ground shorting the vcc of the camera port. trace the vcc of the camera and what ic it is connected then look for heating parts there..
