compaq cq56-240st white screen after uma
Hello there
I'm new to the forum, I apologize in advance if a mistake.
I have a compaq cq56 240st
i want to make uma for this laptop
motherboard is da0ax2mb6e1 rev: e
I did what was described in this video (video is here)
motherboards are identical.
I removed the ones marked with "GO"
I moved the ones marked with "chuyen"
I did nothing to those marked with "them"
The resistance values look the same as the values in the video.
After completing all the operations the laptop only shows white screen.
can you help me find out where the problem is?Comment

If the number of amd chip on your board is 3, then its discrete mb. If you have 2 amd chips, then its UMA only.Comment

Re: i have cq56-240st. this can uma?
Your board DOES NOT have a dedicated GPU and is already running on integrated graphics. It can't be changed to uma because it already is! You'd have to revert all the changes you already made to the board. They were useless and most likely gave you more problems than you had before.
As piernov already said your Northbridge is most likely faulty since the integrated graphics is in it.
And no there is probably no way to repair the board without bga station.Last edited by KvnTM; 11-08-2019, 05:27 AM.Comment

Hello,
On the pc hp g72 b52sf w10 bios:sp55430 each time that i reboot after an update i have a bsod with "video tdr failure in atikmpag.sys" .That's a problem with the ati/amd chip because when i desactivate the amd graphics in device manager the pc can work on the intel graphics. But that's not a valid solution because each time i reboot i have the bsod.
I tried several drivers , even sp50704, to initialize this chip, but i have always the same error of bsod ,or error code 31. On my original bios sp55430 it was not possible to switch the Dgpu toward egpu because the advanced... -
by judamexHello, I have a Dell Alienware M15 R7 INTEL LA-L651P which does not detect the dGPU which is a 3060M, I tried reprogramming both BIOS, without success, the dGPU has all the voltages, I do not know how to make it turn on properly with an external power supply, since outside the case, it only turns on for a second and turns off.
I tested in vBios and on pin 2 of the eeprom I have no voltage, on pin 1 I do have 1.8V
I also disabled the hybrid GPU in the BIOS settings and the Windows startup sound is heard but there is no image, with a color code of 2 red and 7 blue on the power LED. It... -
Hi.
I have a Lenovo ideapad 100-15 with probably bad dGPU.
I tried to disable it by desoldering inductors going to dGPU.
I desoldered 2 inductors (PL705 and L706) going to +VGA_CORE
And 1 inductor (PL701) going to 1_05VS_LX.
Is there anything else I need to desolder?
If the PL701 is in place, I get fan spin at start, but nothing on the screen, no POST.
If PL701 is desoldered, there is no fan spin, but LCD gets powered on (without backlight), but no POST.
I have attached link to boardview and schematics.

by thordrakei recently got a new motherboard for my probook g1 650 but the bios was corrupted and unusable so i removed the bios chip from my old motherboard and transplanted it to the new board with the ati hd8750 dgpu. the dgpu does not function as the firmware is missing the video bios for it.
how do i fix this? the pc is running the latest L78 1.50 firmware. -
by mrsz1Greetings,
I have an Acer Nitro that suddenly turned off while I was using it. No lights, no power, stock DC power supply goes into safe mode when plugged, battery connector is also seem to be shorted while the battery is connected. No visible faulty components are on the board.
Narrowing down the issue I found shorted dGPU 1V_VGACORE rail to be a suspect.
Removing PU8510 (and PU8511) seems to eliminate the issue, the laptop is working on iGPU, charging (new battery) is also fine.
Replacing PU8510 or PU8511 did not seem to solve the issue, the same symptoms come...Acer Nitro 15 VN7-593G Schematics & Boradview - Loading...
