Lenovo Thinkpad W520, No backlight after screen replacment

    Hello friends,
i have a Lenovo Thinkpad W520 Laptop, the screen is broken, but the backlight still working.
when i replace the screen, there is a data without backlight, i can see thinkpad logo, but there is no backlight
i try to back the broken one to see if the light on it still working, but there is no light too.
i know there is a fuse in the MoBo now i should replace.
but what i need to ask, is there is a spicial screen should i install?
or the problem just happend because i try to replace the screen with presence of the battery?

    thank you.

thank you so much for replying.
so the problem just happen because the battery was connected while i'm changing the screen.
not because it need a spicial or spisific screen?
after replacing the fuse, if i connect a new random screen (not spisific for W520) it will work fine?

that depends on what is damaged, but as your data work it may be just fuse or backlight switch or backlight driver, nothing serious

to help aother people whome face the same problem, my mistake is changing the screen while the battery installed.

just i replace a fuse near a flatt cable connector in the MoBo. and i replace the screen whithout any problems.

          thanks for help

There appears to be 2 fuses linked to the LCD display. See attached.

Check for the presence of the voltage rails on each fuse.

Replace the one that is not passing the voltage to the LCD panel.

Not sure on their physical size but if you take and post a clear picture of these parts, perhaps we can figure it out. They look to be surface mount fuses (SMD).

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Gen 10 - Flickering Screen
                by Ado02
                Hello everyone,

We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the IntelĀ® IrisĀ® Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.

The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens,...

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen3 stuck on "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen
                by BMCappelletti
                Hi everyone.
Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.
Found a lot of people with this issue, but with no definitive answer. Some people managed to get away accessing BIOS, going to Startup and turning off "Option Key Display". For me that only removed the interrupt normal start up message, leaving only the Lenovo logo.
Most people say hitting Enter does not work. It's true, if you wait a few seconds. But if you hit Enter right away you get the options to enter BIOS (which works), run diagnostics (goes to a...
