Re: acer pew71 la-6582p usb not working
Check 5v 0n usb port.
If yes than check if ur card reader and web cam is working or not
if not working than its pch faultyComment

Re: acer pew71 la-6582p usb not working
@mcplslg123. That U13 is just for 5V supply. But that should be checked usually... I think in his case its most likely the PCH as stated by @ganeshcell; Page 17 shows the straps into it for all USB rails.
@borbooroski you should check L7 and D13 (they should be close to the port....) make sure they are still okay. Assuming you are getting 5V at the port. On the data lines you should get something like 3.3V.
BTW Semi off topic but this kinda shit made me wonder if it is possible to make use of the "unused" USB straps on the PCH....? First it would be hell trying to find them I guess as they maybe NC(not connected) anyways just thinking out loud....
EDIT: If you or the client are really desperate for USB support you could try and rewire the webcam / cardreader, or bluetooth..... Assuming they still work... They do sometimes other times the whole USB side of the PCH is faulty.(sad face)Last edited by MJ-meo-dmt; 11-13-2018, 12:44 AM.while alive { live(toFullest=true) }Comment

Re: acer pew71 la-6582p usb not working
@borbooroski : Did you check the voltages on the D+ D- lines at the USB Port or before L7. While the laptop is Powered ON?
Before attempting to rewire stuff does the Bluetooth / Cardreader even work?while alive { live(toFullest=true) }Comment

Re: acer pew71 la-6582p usb not working
Okay you need to answer more clearly...
D+ / D- = 4.8v? That's way to much, you should then check the 3.3V supply to the PCH all instances of 3.3V and make sure they are correct.
4.8V at the USB? That's a bit low to be honest, usually 5.1V - 5.3V no load.
Yes? for the bluetooth and cardreader is working? or yes for the above?
You see what I mean it's hard to decipher what you mean.

Re: acer pew71 la-6582p usb not working
Okay 4.8V isn't great to be honest again... Anyways you should follow the schematic and see what you need to rewire the D+/- lines...
But to be honest(again) I think you shouldn't try this. Because at the moment the client still has a working laptop, although no USB's which kinda suck... But yeah if you do it wrong you could damage the PCH. When we get a guide section in the forum I'll make a guide for this sometime.while alive { live(toFullest=true) }Comment

by aico60Hello everyone,
I am working on an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-46, board HH51R LA-M002P Rev: 1A with an AMD CPU and Insyde Bios rev 5.
Short issue description: BIOS does not recognize any of the DMI data.
History of the laptop:
The seller of the laptop said that it shut down during a BIOS update.
I bought in in a condition where it turned on but did not post.
While waiting for my RT809F to arrive, I tried to perform a Crisis recovery, which messed up the EC firmware, so... the laptop stopped even turning on. Power and Charging LEDs didn't work either...-

by titomno2Hi guys,
On motherboard ACER AN515-52 type LAF951P.
I fixed issue with not starting computer (it was the PQ201 component not working properly).
But after checking everything I have still an issue with secondary SATA connector JHD1 (for HDD typically).
Basically some HDD spin but are not detected by the bios.
Already tried following:
checked the 4 data lines
#2 RDSATA_PTX_C_DRX_P4 => CO18 (10nF seems OK) => RO24 (0Ohm measured at 0.25Ohms).
#3 RDSATA_PTX_C_DRX_N4 => CO17 (9.68nF seems OK) => RO23 (0Ohm measured...07-28-2024, 08:30 AM -
by jermac0711Brand : Acer
MOBO: PEW71 LA-5894P
Issue: initially no power. PQ73 mosfet is busted. (AO4466) . Unit has power now but PQ87 is heating up too much (observerd under thermal camera) causing to shut down the system. I tried to remove the removable CPU and the mosfet temperature went normal. I have a replacement CPU from same model but everytime there's a CPU, mosfet PQ87 temperature is rising rapidly.
I hope you guys can shed some light. Thank you so much in advance.2 Photos -
by warsztatHello, Acer AN515-57-577G JDIMM1 socket does not work. GH51G LA-L181P, 2x DDR4 RAM, both good, both work well in JDIMM2, neither works in JDIMM1. The laptop displays BIOS, when the JDIMM2 socket is occupied, you can run Linux on USB, then everything seems to work ok, there is internet access and you can browse the contents of the 512 GB SSD in Windows, but starting Windows ends with an eternal spinning circle, maybe there are corrupted files. When the RAM is inserted into the JDIMM1 socket, the laptop starts but there is no image and the downloaded current does not change and the output is ~2.25A....

by Source CodeHello Everyone
First I must say I am trying to learn electronics. I have an Acer Nitro 5. Board is LA-861P. The laptop does not charge but when it has battery life it would power on and work fine. I have use a multimeter to check the charger and I get 19v.
Input on PBQ3 mosfet is 19v but no output or very low voltage. The voltage on PCZ65 and PCZ48 is 2v and it keep dropping after putting the charger for a few second. Battery pin would give like 0.200v declining.
If I put the laptop off for like 2-3 months it would start charging again but I need to do this... - Loading...
