Hello everyone! When I plugged my laptop to a the scren sowed some weird artifacts, then shut off.I powered it on again, then shut off again.DOne this a few times then the laptop wouldn't turn onand the charger light come off, so the laptop was shorted.Few months later checked at a friend who got a lab psu the TPS51116 ic was shorted, and also the two fets belonging to it.Foast forward to now I got a hot air rework station(858D kind) replaced the IC and the FETS but still no 1.5V_SUS and the laptop beeps seven. Also there was a horted tanutlum cap on the line, and something else ws shored also but I don't know what because when I injected 1 amps it just vanished(maybe burned away).Anyone can help me maybe?

Re: Dell n5010 dead tps51116 not working
5.5V and 3.3V present for sure, comnputer sometimes turns on, sometimes not, but when turns on VCORE is also present.I made some pictures with my phone( sorry for crappy quality also included a brightened image and also incrased contrast)Are these solder joints looking good? And some compents are missing from there.Shall they be there?according to the schematics they are for the enable signals. This was my first QFN chip i i I cooked 2 of them, almost ripped a pad, but restored(3 GND) also 0.75V missing.GPU and CPU heats up when computer turns on.Last edited by laci200270; 08-29-2018, 08:54 AM.Comment

Re: Dell n5010 dead tps51116 not working
assign fixing the missing components to another time. For now, I see that the TPS51116 IC is not aligned properly on the pads. some pins seem even shorted together. thus, do not connect power to this mainboard until you fix the soldering mistakes. to learn such a soldering job, practice on a number of failed mainboards.Last edited by caspian; 08-29-2018, 09:31 AM.Comment

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

by minaedwardHi all
I have a dell n5010 that shows black screen after the dell logo and freezes
But when I remove the keyboard it works fine and boot the windows
The keyboard is working as I can press F1 and F2 and inter the bios settings and change it
But after the dell logo it causes the laptop to freeze
Any ideas why ? -
by Francesc V.Hi:
A friend gave me this DELL WD15 dockstation that does nothing. Not detected by computer, no digital output.........just leds shines when it’s plugged in.
Here are the findings, followed by good pictures. :-)
When pluged in, LED3 glows
Measuring some voltage in the circuit.
Inductors
- PL202 has 5V
- PL201 has 3.3V
- PL300 has 1V
V. Regulators
- UT30 has 19v as input and 6V as output. It seems ok.
- UT27 (same reference as UT30, has no input/output voltage).

by YellowJacketHi folks,
DELL Latitude 5410, board number FDZ41 LA-J371P Rev: 1.0 (A00), schematic uploaded in different post, here is the link --> https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=3484415
When I connect it to a power ( DELL round charger, or USB-C ), LED on the power button starts flashing white, and the laptop doesn't do anything ( flashing slows for a very brief time in time when I press it, but it continues again ). Battery is not charging. While the charger is connected, I have few voltages present, but some of them are fluctuating, see attached pictures.

by tracksHello all,
I have a Dell 3080 Micro with a problem. As it is right now, it seems to be boot looping, maybe... There's no output, just fan on and power led lights up and blinks off every 2 seconds or so.
Previous owner told me he bought it with a BIOS password, he tried to use a CH341A programmer with some random test clip and tried to mess with it while it was powered on. Now it won't boot.
I tried to dump the bios with an EZP2023+ but I can't get a consistent read. Every time the dump is different, so it's unusable. I think the BIOS chip is fried.
