Dahua locked out Uboot from bad Firmware install.DH-SD8A840-HNF-PA
      by Revo2Maxx
So have a camera that came with CEEN firmware and when trying to add in USA Firmware the camera is now bricked.. I have looked at the SoC in the camera housing. It has a few and they were not related to the camera it self so I removed the camera module, wanted to see if it was setup like some of the other cameras that I have repaired in the past. This PCB don't have any clear USB or Reset pads, Connecting a USB to Serial I get very little data and shows that it is FW dead.. I can't stop UBoot I have even tried a script that has some expected key strokes and this also fails.. At first I thought...

Apple MacBook Pro A2141 16" IC BYPASS
      by oxonater
Hi everyone hope all are well

I need a little expert advice on a issue I have and seeing as this forum is full of clever people I thought ask here as you never know.

The schematics say this chip is (M34128-FCS6_P/T) and it also says there is a bypass for it wondered if anyone come across either the IC or the bypass method.
I suppose it's worth noting googling the part package brings up various...

Case study: apple A1311 firmware locked
      by iacopo
A client brought in a IMAC A1311 that had been firmware locked and said he forgot the password.

I fixed the problem by reading the ROM and removing the part where it enabled the firmware lock and rewriting it to the MAC.

In my case this is what i did: i search for the string of text "$SVS" inside the dump, and found there were two, the first one was followed by a lot of non 0xFF bytes, the second one instead was followed by only a few non 0xFF bytes.

What i did to fix it was copy the second apperance of "$SVS" along with all the...
