Hi dmartins, jeez i been repairing Power Jacks for a long time and never come across anything like that, the whole area around the Jack needs a serious clean up first of all using isopropyl alcohol, check and resolder the existing solder joints so at least you'll know the have been done correctly, nothing much you can do with the positive pin where the hole is other than run a small jumper cable to a point on the same positive line, its most likely 19V, you need to get hold of the schematics to 'make sure' you get the correct trace, failure to do so could result in serious damage to the board when power is applied, you need to carefully scratch a small spot on the correct trace to expose the copper underneath, clean and flux then solder one end of the jumper to that spot, the other end to the pin on the Jack, its not ideal but it does work and assuming you get a good joint really shouldn't cause any problems, hope it works out OK for you

Those Asus power jacks are garbage. Desolder it, clean the area, and put a new one there. Then solder a (thick) jumper wire between the center pin and the +V_DCJACK line (should be the plane around the hole). After that, check for a short on the jack.
