    HP Probook 4510s keyboard removal

I've looked at Youtube videos of 4510s disassembly, and at HP's instructions namely:

    http://h20464.www2.hp.com/resultsCSR...4-CBFF7FB56D76

Before you begin: Remove the battery and switch cover.

    1. Remove the two 5mm P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the keyboard to the top cover.
    2. Slide the keyboard toward the rear of the notebook to release the retaining tabs.

But I cannot budge the keyboard, even though I have definitely removed its two screws

    Any tips ?

The videos/instructions make it look so simple

What could be holding it in place ?

      Thanks, suspected something like that

But I was too scared of something breaking to try lifting very much, so gave up idea of SSD upgrade and just put it back together

There are 6 or 7 screws under the battery at least, remove it and even than you can remove that cover.

Had already removed those 7 screws then the switch cover, to be able to access & remove the two screws securing the keyboard

Ok, so it's almost done. Now just use some power and push the keyboard to the screen, sometimes it goes hard, but you shouldn't damage anything.

Yes, slide keyboard up towards the screen and it will come off. There are no screws underneath, it's just the two (4510) or three (4710) on the top side.

There are two holes in the bottom of the laptop , located under the removed covers , where you can push the keyboard up gently . Once you done it with a thin screwdriver , it will be easy to grab it from the up side ..
