Hi, I had a good case for a Toshiba C850 but no matching board. I found that a Toshiba C50 motherboard that I had fits perfectly apart from a minor mod to the hard drive bay. The only thing I haven't got is a power button board. The C850 has a 4 wire zif cable but the C50 has a 6 wire one. I found a 6 wire board that works but it won't fit the space for the board unless I cut it. The area I need to cut off looks like it is just earthboard but I thought I'd check here first. You can see the black line that I want to cut off. Any problems doing this? There's nothing on the other side either.

Re: Can I cut this?
Those little power switch boards are usually so simple that they don't even use inner layers for traces. What you see is pretty much what you get. To be safe, you should be able to just follow the traces from the cable to each component. Since the cable has 6 wires, 2 of them may not be connected to anything or may be doubled up. There's very little chance of any traces being hidden inside the part you want to cut off.
