    lenovo e535 APU tempature

Does this board have an external sensor for measuring APU temps?

    MOBO - LA-8124P

    Issue:
The thermal sensor for the APU is reporting at 85C idle with an A6 APU. I replaced it with a A10 and it reports +90C at idle. The heatsink is cool so I know its not overheating.

The problem is that the system is throttling the APU to 900MHz because of the temps.

I thought the sensor would be internal to the chip. If the sensor was bad then replacing the chip should have fixed it.

I have upgraded to the latest BIOS without any change.

    Thanks for any help

Check out the board schematic page 38.there is a thermal sensor near apu...
Also check capacitors on remote lines of U2402...

Only Alibaba has the part and I can't find any dead boards for parts.

Anyone have a dead board with this sensor on it??

The specific IC reports temp of ddr and vram to ec. I do not think this ic is your problem. There isn't an external sensor for the apu on the board. Probably your problem is software related. Check with a fresh install without drivers and updates.

          Re: lenovo e535 APU tempature

First thing I did was install windows on a different drive. I thought it was a Windows 10 issue so I installed 7.

          Installed a new mobo

          APU reports 85-105C

          APU runs @ full speed

The new board has BIOS 2.08. I guess I can try to reflash the old board or downgrade the BIOS if possible.

So, with new board the problem remains ?
            New mobo + Apu = 85-105°C

Still temp issue but the APU is not stuck at 900MHz anymore.

the temp really isn't an issue because I know it not overheating. I thought the high temps were the cause of the APU being throttled to 900MHz

Is the the thermal interface material OK? You're not putting too little or too much?

Because if the temperature is reported as high and the heatsink is cold, it could be that the heat is not getting from the CPU to the heatsink.

AcuRite 5 in 1 temperature sensor replacement repair
                    by CapLeaker
                    Got a new victim:

AcuRite 5 in 1 Iris outdoor weather station not updating the temperature / humidity anymore. The original sensor is a SHT21. Also there are identical other sensor manufacturers. I chose the HTU21D to replace the original SHT21. Both have identical specs. I've had two failure modes with these sensors.
A: outside temp stuck at -40? It's cold here at times in Canada, but not that cold!
B: stuck at some temperature and maybe updating once in 12 hrs or so.

Easy solution is to go to AcuRite website and purchase the sensor. Right?...
