Reflash Bios, i have repaired some cq71 and 61 with same sympton !

Please explain more details on Laptop behavior after plugging in and also after pressing the power button.
Any LED on or blinking?
In addition, explain the voltage measurements you did so far.

We dont know, what model exactly you have as well. As we dont know, if it is AMD or Intel one, some schematic attachement would help.

This is a CQ62-423NR, product # XZ199UA#ABA. I hope that is enough to identify processor type, etc. I bought a new power adapter to eliminate a bad adapter as the problem. There are no lights when plugging it in. Do I need to open it up and take pictures? As for reflashing, I don't know how to do that. I haven't made voltage measurements, I need direction on where to measure.

Agree with Passete, flashing BIOS would help.

You need external SPI programmer. There are some topics here how to do that so use searching.

dnixon , not much , 80% thats its bios problems , very hard doing it via crisis rec , so you will need to open it and flash bios
you will need a rom programmer , if you don't have any , try to find any local store that can program it for you , or in last case , buying a programed rom for this model
