    Sony keyboard

    Hey Guys,

    I replaced the motherboard MBX-224 from a VPCEB2S1E (15,5") with the MBX-224 from a VPCA3S1E (14,1"),
I had to re-locate the 2 (mouse) touch switches and the battery connector.
The option is there on the board and it works fine.
Now I have one problem left, which is the keyboard. The connector is on the same place, but the board does not accept the 102 keyboard. The numeric pas does not work and if you press numlock, the standard keys change and the numeric still doesn't work. This shows the system use to have 86 keyboard.
Where can I change that? The bios have nothing on the keyboard and I can't find nothing in the system settings.

Any ideas how to solve this problem are welcome

    Thanks in advance

      Re: Sony keyboard

      Thx for reply.
Biosfile Sony = EP0000228463.exe, containing R0300Y8.rom (Bios) and K0300Y8.rom (EC)
Sony lists this same file for both types of laptop.
I can't install it, because system says it is already there. So I must do a recovery and I don't know the right procedure for that.
I look in this site and MDL site and every machine is there, except the Sony.
AndyP tool says EFI INSYDE bios.

bios is correct, mybe you need to write DMI or exchange eprom from old board.

I don't know about writing DMI. I can exchange eprom from old board, so I will try that.

Exchange bios and eprom near chipset

I did that and you will not believe it, nothing has changed, all the DMI data is the same and the keyboard still is not working.
Onliest change is that the Fan is running full speed all the time while the temp on HWInfo says Cpu 26 degr and GPU 35 degr.

                    Re: Sony keyboard

I put back the eeproms and the fan problem is gone.
Now I think the setting has to be in the DMI or ME. If the DMI is located in the eeprom, it has to be the ME.

Any thoughts about this are welcome.

This thread is the start from the other thread for the M961 schematics.
So here I'm done, I updated the Bios, EC and ME region and that did not help,
I have to look for the solution in the hardware, for which I need the schematics for M961
                      board.
