Asus Zenbook UX210A Notebook PC - dead usb ports

Recently received this cute notebook into my service. The client has no idea what happened to it but it's 2 usb ports are dead(one of them is a usb 3.0). I measured both ports and they do have their current voltages but they cant detect anything I connect to them. Is it possible the that pch suffered some circuit short? Any way to check that?
    Thanks.

Newer Asus laptops of time when 2nd gen CPU and USB 3.0 models appeared, their USB ports won't detect (even the USB 2.0) in Windows until chipset and USB 3.0 drivers are installed. Quick way to check is to connect a USB flash drive (doesn't has to be bootable) in USB 2.0 port and go into bios at the last page (where you see Boot Override section). If the USB drive appears there then you just need to install drivers.

Have you tried to update bios ? ( if FShahid tip failled get a bios update)

USB 3.0 and 2.0 controllers (please correct me if wrong) are separeted chips so i think its pretty tuff to blow up the 2.
