About HP DM4-1155 and ATI 216-0774009

    Hello
I have on my hands a Pavilion dm4-1155 with an i5 and graphics ati5450 chip 216-0774009

It overheat a lot. I have try all even disabling ati in windows but none seems to resolve the issue.

Of course like most of the devices with a switchable GPU a have installed drives from HP to make right the switching

It have not reballed yet (I know because in this case the DM4 is mine)

I really can live without the Ati GPU and leave only the intel, that's I'm gonna extract the GPU 216-0774009 and try the DM4 without the chip.

If it does'nt work I'll buy a new chip

EDIT: Sorry I mistaked the forum for this thread

There is someone in the forum with a similar experience ?
Can the DM4 work without the 216-0774009

Sorry for my bad english and muchas gracias in advance

I assume you tried cleaning the CPU cooler and re-applying the heatsink compound.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Yes, the CPU was totally cleaned and applied Arctic MX4. For the GPU I applied a thermal pad of 7 w/mk (you know, the white one). The fan turns ok, totally loose, the axis is in perfect condition and of course the motor works.

I'll enter the motherboard in the reballing machine today.

My doubt aobut buy a new chip or try it wihout any chip persists.
