Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

Measure the resistance across the 2 x DCin mosfets.

    Source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8)
    source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
    gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

    Post each measurement.

Do review the sticky above by piernov on charger circuits. Often, the 2nd DC in mosfet gets shorted and raises the issues you are observing.

If in a rush - replace the 2nd DCin mosfet -> test again. If still not working, replace also the 1st DCin mosfet.

Before proceeding, do check the resistance to ground of the main power rail. We need to be sure there is no short on this rail which would have caused the DCin mosfet(s) to get nuked. From experience, the DCin mosfets are damaged by in rush currents.

I can't edit above post, just to tell I noticed when bring 19v to laptop , it draws very short (second) 24mA then goes to zero

Is the posted schematic accurate for your board? This schematic shows both dcin mosfets to be the same size.

What are the topside markings on the mosfets that are on your actual board?

Yes ,board view is accurate, I tried other mosfet deferent size but put wires, and still not works, both DCIN changed, with wire from plus input I connected to big resistor on main relay and laptop works ok, with no battery charging of course.
They had already same model and same fix and works to them...so will give as it is

Thank You for your help, always only you trying to help me
              Regards

Glad to help where I can.

If you still have the unit, measure the full resistance path for the battery charge circuit. Be sure this full path measures to the values on the schematic.

Perhaps battery is old? Test with another known good battery. Either way, glad you made some progress.

For Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.

Intel D865PERL - no Vcore after replacing MOSFETs and MOSFET drivers
                  by kotel studios
                  Hi,

Finally got time to fix this board up.
At first it didn't give any POST codes. Turns out it was an unsupported Celeron D cpu. After dropping in an Celery 2.6gHz the CPU came out of reset with clock signal, but still no post codes. For a while it did work when I applied pressure to the ADP3168 chip, but on next reboot the MOSFETs started to burn. Then I left it as is for months.

Now I came back prepared. Replaced the bad MOSFETs and the ADPxx18k drivers. Now I don't get any MOSFETs blowing up issues anymore. But sadly, the Vcore is missing. The whole VRM isn't...

Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen2 Battery Mosfet Replacement
                  by Grafnus
                  Hey there,

first time posting here. I have been lurking a bit trying to find a solution but with little to no avail.

So I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen2. When I got it (for free) it was turning on but not charging because the battery was unplugged. When I plug the battery in, the Laptop won't boot at all.

                  Specs:
                  • Type: Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen2 20YQ-001KGE
                  • CPU, GPU, RAM work fine (not involved in the Problem)

So the first thought was to toss the battery and get a new one, as clearly the BMS is throwing errors or something.

                  Now I noticed...

Lenovo Ideapad 15IIL05, turns on and off with charger BUT works by injecting 20v after main mosfets
                  by NanoTesting
I got a 15-IIL05 that failed to turn on BUT IT DID TRY TO TURN ON and then turned off after 30+- seconds, i disassembled it and found a screw loose inside the case.
With charger it turns on, fan spins but gives no image.
Tested main mosfets no short, tested 3.3v,5v,DRAM, CPU etc and they were present.
                  Reflashed BIOS, same problem.
                  Replaced both main mosfets.
Checked main mosfets again and i noticed that they closed once the laptop shut down, so i decided to bypass them and used a bench PSU to check how much power the laptop was drawing while trying to turn on, 20v@3A,...
