What does it mean˝link them out˝?

Forgive my ignorence in this matter, but do I need inverter power on a LED screen?
Is that not only with CCFL?

I will put back L1 and L2, but do they have to be exact the same, because ordering them will take time and maybe I can find some on a broken motherboard.

if its a led no you don't need the inverter supply the inverter supply is for the ccl tube
reading from all the voltage that you have given the led screen should be on
unless your ribbon cable is faulty, as you have external display makes me thing that the cable needs looking at.
oh forgot linking them out sort them out with wire.

I will need some time to try the cable out on my surely good screen which I have to take apart from my present laptop.

Hey Guys,

I dismanteled my laptop for the good screen an tried it out. The immage is there, but without the backlight.(lamp behind it) . I could not find any working keystroke to switch neather. Afterwards I tried to see if linking through the L1 and L2 would make any difference, but also no difference.
While trying to make the L1/L2 connection with a small screwdriver, I made a shortcut.
I could cry. Through my Parkinson illness, my hands were too unstable at the end of the day and that was to much for the motherboard and it switched off. Money down then drain, stupid, stupid....
After that, it only comes on for a few seconds and switches off. During that time U20 (Ene) gets very hot, so I do not get the time to messure anything.

Hope you guys got any idee if and how to fix this problem again, I feel very bad,
The complete laptop is very nice and would be a waist to trow away.

omg i feel you

i had a similar acer like your with ati video and i was newbie with the oven thing and i forgot the bios battery in it. it was soldered to the board. i should have made some pictures what happen there.

the funny part you know what is it? i blew on 7 min and a couple of seconds; that means it reach 180 or 190 degrees


about your swap the ENE and please if you got a microscope use it . last one i swap i kiss the microscope " good thing i got you" hahaha

I do have a microscoop, which I kissed a couple of time already

U20 (Ene) gets very hot, gone for sure your not the first to blow the chip I have done same in the past.

I have to wait a while now to get this chip.Hopefully 2 wks (out of China)
Maybe this replacement will also fix the bkoff signal, let's hope.
Will keep you guys informed.

Hello People,

Got my Ene chip in and tried to solder him in, but I messed up the motherboard.
From the 128 islands, I lost about 6 and a couple are loose but still connected to the pcb.
I used a microscoop, but that did not help. To shaky in holding the soldering iron and to much tin dropped on it. Try cleening that with the litze, but jogged a bundle of leggs crooked. When trying so set them straight 3 pieces break. Put to much strenght on them while they were connected to the neighbour island.
The more I kept correcting, the more I messed up.

Can someone tell me what is the right temperature for soldering this chip? Considering the quick los of material, it was to hot.(about 350 degrees C)

I will order a new one and try again. Fixing the lost islands with wires connected to the nearest component.

For the entertainment I enclose the picture from the result.
