    Leovo Thinkbook 14 G2 ITL - Charging issues

    Hi,

    I have 2 x Lenovo Thinkbook G2 ITL laptops. They seems to be identical specs, both 11th gen, 1135G7 cpu, both 12gb ram and both 256gb M.2 ssd.
    I have ensured both have the same latest bios and ec firmware.

    One of them works totally fine however the other has charging issues.

    I have compared both motherboards in diode mode and cannot find much of a difference anywhere.
    I have swapped the motherboards over to the other casings and the issue transfers.

    It's behaviour is it will connect at 20v on USB-C and always start to charge. After a few seconds it will stop charging. Re plugging in the USB-C charger to either port it will continue to charge for a short period of time. I have had it charging for 30 minutes plus and then stop, it also charges for 30 seconds and then stops.
    This behaviour happens in bios as well as Windows.

    Both USB-C ports result in the same symptoms.

    I am at a total loss with this one.

    Can anyone suggest where I would go next with this one?

      I forgot to mention, it seems to charge fine when powered off.

          Anybody think it could be an EC issue?

              For Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.

              Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1 not charging on 1 USBC

              I have Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1 which is not charging on 1 usbc port (the one that has mark for charging).
              When i connect usb it switchs to 20v but no current draw (only 0.02a) and orang light is on. In windows it shows that is charging but percentage is dropping.
              Other usbc is charging fine,

              I installed lates bios and firmwares for thunderbolt and battery.

              Could be faulty JHL8040R controller?
