    ITE EC programming outside

Hello, so i got this asus fx516 for quite cheap, one of the numerous failures on it is the EC (3v ldo shorted), a bga ITE IT5125VG, so i went to aliexpress to the store i usually buy mosfets and other ics from and asked if they could sell me this ec programmed, and they say YES SURE, so i bought it, i sadly don't own an svod yet (I do this as a hobbie). And i was wondering, it's possible to program an ec outside the laptop? I've seen this done on a laptop through the keyboard connector and even the battery connector, but not outside, at least not on bga ec (IT5125VG). Has someone done this before? I'm asking because i found the same motherboard used and i could buy that one and take the parts from it and fix this damn thing. In any case, thanks.

I confirm views on post#2. A blank EC will auto program itself on 1st boot on this platform.

It is possible to program a BGA EC standalone but the only one I know of currently is the SVOD4 with the debug PCB and BGA socket adaptor. This is 140 euro from their store, on top of the SVOD itself.

Only one I really trust on Aliexpress these days is SUHMS

You can program it with the RT809H programmer from the keyboard socket or by mounting it on the card.

I see thanks mate, i'll check that store next time i have to buy something, i usually buy random stuff from shenzhen hong ming (they don't offer programming tho), so far their ics work fine.

                  Programming KBC IT8987VG ASUS TUF FX506L RT809F+PEB
                  by araxnido
Dear friends, I want to share my experience repairing an ASUS TUF FX506L gaming laptop motherboard: DABKXDMB8E0_F_BKXD. Boardview and schematic are available, as well as the BIOS and ITE ROM.

When the customer brought in this laptop, it was initially dead; it showed no signs of booting for any reason. After hours of measurements, checking each stage, MOSFET, and seeing if there was a short circuit in any capacitor, I discovered a strange 0.7V leakage voltage on the 3V_S5 rail, particularly on the PL9 coil, with the board not powered on. There were 3V_LDO and 5V_LDO voltages, which...

                  Q: I have a bios request,i can`t post my backup as i can`t read from the chip.

A: If you can`t read from it how do you expect to write to it ?.

Q: Why is my bios chip unreadable ?.

A: The programmer is faulty or has a worn or broken zif socket.

The USB cable is frayed, connector pins worn or some other physical damage.

All the others models and brands like Winbond, cFeon, etc. All works fine. But i just cant do it with XMC chips, is there some specific program that i must use? (i am using NeoProgrammer)

                  Dell Precision 3560 BIOS programming
                  by bk304
I am working on a Dell precision 3560 with a locked BIOS. I used AsProgrammer software with the CH341A v1.7 set at 3.3V. AsProgrammer is the only software that works with the CH341A that lists the W25R256JV. Reading the 25R256JV with this setup returned garbage results. I switched to my T48 programmer and it identified the chip as a 25Q256JV and appeared to read the chip perfectly.

I need to reprogram the chip but I am not sure if the programming the 25R256JV with the 25Q256JV setting will work. I don't want to risk bricking the computer.

                  Anybody have any experience or...
