    Lenovo 15arh05h 82b1 NM-D281 Rev 1.0 2020

    Lenovo 15ARH05H Does not power on. 20v at charging port
    Right Capacitor is getting too hot to touch around PU2001
    Most surrounding caps have 0 resistance

    Bottom cap reads nothing as well as the 2.2 resistor


    2 caps on right reads no resistance

    top capacitors read nothing
    big cap on left of chip reads 000.8
    I'm not great but i'm trying to learn.

    Can someone point me on where i should be looking to target the correct faulty component

    Would a shorting capacitor stop the laptop from showing any signs of life

      The first thing you should do is measure the sense resistance after the high and low MOSFET. If you have a short there, then it means that you could have problems before the capacitor resistance or some MOSFET. The fact that this component is hot does not mean that it is damaged.

          Hi,

          I have on my bench a Lenovo Legion5 15ARH05H with motherboard NM-D281 P/N: 5B20Z21859 specs are AMD Ryzen 4800H and Nvidia RTX2060, that only bluescreens in idling tasks like youtube watching or surfing the web. If i stress test processor or graphics no bluescreens happpen. I tested with new RAM, new NVME SSD, with/without battery plugged in, etc. still the same. Cleaned and repasted both chips still the same. Removed the motherboard and inspected for corrosion/ liquids and faulty components but motherboard is clean almost new looking like. Does anybody had this problem before...

          Dear members,
          I have a problem with this machine that still I can't solve, I hope some of you can suggest me something.
          I was the first one to open the machine and touch the mainboard, in fact the Lenovo seal was intact the first time that I unscrewed all the internal screws.
          The ower told me that it was working very good until Windows kicked "something like a firmware update" (owner's words) then the system started acting weird.
