Compaq 6735s led flash then shutdown

So I bought this laptop for pieces and repair.
With its original cpu a TMDL56HAXSCT at start up a led near bios the battery, 2 leds around the charing port flash one time, the cooler spins once then the system shuts down.
I reballed the nb(216-0674026) and the sb but the problem persists. The nb by contact is not hot.
Then I changed the CPU with a AMP340SGR22GM which comes from a personal working laptop and the following happens.
System boots up, I got battery bios led and charging port leds flash, cooler stays on and a led near the vga flashes interminently but still no vga signal. After a few seconds the gpu feels pretty for the touching.

I wonder if the first CPU and the gpu are burned.

6735s have vga problem

In the end I found out the that cpu might not be compatible with the laptop, someone before must have changed it and the blinking led near the battery bios and vga output means that the gpu is gona and needs replacement.

I got 2 like this at home. they had video problem. one had a lot of flux near gpu if could take it down I can use it for half a year.
and a 3rd one that splits the screen in 6 but I did not had time for it.

First use supported CPU like Turion RM-70 to RM-75, Athlon QL-60 to QL-65 or Semron (not sure the right model now). CPU the Turion 64 X2 family or TurionII Pxxx or TurionII Mxxx are not supported.

I agree but if the same symptoms were original cpu then the gpu is done deal (my quess)

TMDTL56HAXSCT (Turion Tl-56) is not original CPU..

I'm not saying that the gpu is OK, but you cannot fix the problem with unsupported devices

Right,use either Ql- or RM series.

I tested the system with an AMQL60DAMZ2GG. The system boots up and then I have 2 leds blinking. I believe the gpu is done and needs replacing.

I,ve done several of these by reflowing gpu and they still work after 5 months..lets see how long cause it is like mouth to mouth cpr.

Yes, but I already reballed mine and the system is still dead, hence the need for a new gpu.

on the vga core coil, have you any short there ?

I didnt check and I dont even know how to. Hopefully in the following months I get to read and learn what to do with a laptop schematic.
