    Alienware m15 r3 mb bap10 la-d751p rev 1.0 water damage repair request

Hello. I spilled over night a marginal amount of water and this morning my Alienware m15 r3 didn't turn on anymore. The charger was blinking when plugged in rather than showing a solid light when not being plugged in.

opened her up and I see some liquid and discoloration. After a light cleaning, I can make out some damage around some power elements mainly a blown “4r7”. I tested with multimeter and would like to attempt to replace with some small components around.

looking at my pictures, could anybody give me an idea how to proceed? The front of the board looks great.
how much would a repair shop charge for replacing a couple elements? Tia

As long as it isn't enough to replace the mentioned components to get the board working again, which is likely the case, you're not only oversimplifying the situation but also asking the wrong questions.

This really likely needs proper troubleshooting and for me there is no fun to see while looking at the big exposed area. Looks really bad and was supposed to be cleaned right after the incident.

Either way, first step is to clean the mess

Would you think it's worth giving it to a repair shop? I'd hate to throw it out since all other components were working before the incident. I checked all other dipole elements in the area and the 4r7 and two small ones to the top left are not showing continuity. I don't know about the ics but all of them have continuity. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This is expensive machine-so strongly suggest to seek help from an experienced technician.

Definitely its worth to give to a repair shop(check skills). Else, how people like us survive if everything is resolved in badcaps.
