    A2681 820-02536 no Wi-Fi

the board came with no power symptoms and found a blown cap (if I remember correctly it was PP3V3_S2_LDO line)
after cap replacement Wi-Fi is not turning on.. after few reads found "WLBT_PWR_EN" high in diode mode and not present when board is on.. thought PMU is faulty, replaced it but sadly Wi-Fi is not on as it is.. meaning this is a bad Wi-Fi chip.. and since Wi-Fi chip is paired to the M2 SoC changing the chip is meaningless..

all wifi chip vcc lines are on = 3v3 aon wlbt, 1.8v s2 and 1.25v s2

Is there other workaround for this issue?

WLBT_PWR_EN is a 1.8v line.. can I pull volt from 1.8 s2 to the power enable line?

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
      by DynaxSC
      Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

Asus Zenbook UX433F UX433FA wifi up and down and chip hot
      by corrize
Hello, on this laptop, the wifi can be up and stop working. I noticed it never works without battery, except long time after I remove the DC jack, and it stop to works (Bluetooth too). It diseapper to window and still 2 exclamation points in the device list.

The wifi chip is hot when the laptop is on.

I made a bios update but the same.

That could be a thermal issue, I measured 2 caps shorted (0 Ohms) beside the chip (+3V_WLAN according the bordview), but not since (so I have doubt what I saw). After, I measured 50 Ohms when battery plugged and K Ohms...

A: If you can`t read from it how do you expect to write to it ?.

Q: Why is my bios chip unreadable ?.

A: The programmer is faulty or has a worn or broken zif socket.

The USB cable is frayed, connector pins worn or some other physical damage.

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
      by BMCappelletti
      Long story short:
      - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
      - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
      - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
      - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...
