645 G10 with some liquid damage around the bios chip

    Hi!

    I could use some help.

I have a 645 G10 with some liquid damage around the bios chip.
After cleaning, the laptop does the same as in RHS93-s reply above.

    ""
    1. F5 key LED lights up Orange
    2. Power LED flashes White/Orange
    3. Machine turns on and off like this a few times
    4. Finally the F5 key LED turns off and the Power LED stays white
    5. If I press power button in such condition I get 7 flashes on the CapsLock LED
    6. Laptop reacts to the power button: if I press it long enough the machine turns off but then turns ON automatically and the cycle repeats

Under such condition I can see voltages on the motherboard going up: 3.3v, 5v are ON all the time. For a second or two I do get 1.8v for RAM and one of the CPU power stages (the high resistance one) goes up to 0.8v. Later these voltages go down and only 3.3v and 5v remain ON. ""

I think i have at least one or more components that disintagrated when cleaning could someone help my identfy what should be there and their values.

The first, red circle something is missing from there.
Second, yellow circle that component turned so gray i cant even tell if its a capacitor or a resistor.
Third, green circle i'm pretty sure nothing missing from there but the corrossion was the pretty bad there.

    Could anyone please help?

Fujitsu U7511 liquid damage, wont turn on anymore, does not respond to charger in any way.
    by av4x
    Good morning, everyone!
I've gotten my hands on a few laptops with various defects because I want to get more involved in repairing electronics.

First up is a Fujitsu Lifebook U7511.
It won't turn on anymore and doesn't respond in any way when you plug in a power adapter.

    Model: Fujitsu Lifebook U7511
    CPU: Intel Core i5-1135G7
    GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
    RAM: 16GB DDR4 - 3,200 MHz
    PCB manufacturer: ASKPCB?
    PCB serial numbers: CP801602, CP7984241-Z4, E239218, CP809978-01
    Damage: Liquid damage

    The liquid probably...

MacBook Pro A2442 (Board No. 820-02443-05) – Liquid Damage Repair Assistance
    by rounin
    Device Information
    • Model: MacBook Pro 14” M1 Pro (A2442)
    • Logic board number: 820-02443-05

    Original Issue
The device suffered liquid damage, causing a short circuit on the logic board.
Near the audio jack area, the CR852 capacitor pad was severely burned, creating a clear short-circuit path. The board could not power on properly.

    Work Performed
Removed the short circuit by drilling through the board (bypassing the short path) in the CR852 area.

A1466 Macbook Air (Liquid damage repair)
    by mon2
Hi. Recently serviced a damaged A1466 Macbook Air. Thought to post the issues and resolution for each.

Macbook AIR Model A1466 Diagnostic 09-01-2021

Issue: Liquid damaged (beer spill) Macbook AIR will not power up.

    Problems & Resolutions

    1) Attached Apple magsafe power adapter. No green / no orange light. This confirms the absence of the PP3V42_G3H voltage rail. The PP3V42_G3H rail is the primary voltage rail necessary to communicate with the magsafe power adapter to report the green or orange light status to the end user....

MacBook Pro 13inch 2017mid (A1706 820-00923-A) - liquid damage - USBC and Display short circuit
    by rilley
    Hello everyone,
I am new into this, sorry to post it here. I want to make this as a pet hobby project, as this mac is not urgent.

    I have (Macbook Pro 13inch 2017mid) A1706 820-00923-A

My mac had liquid damage a long time ago, the connector from J8500 is damaged on pin 46 (PP5V_S0_ALSCAM_F), I guess the LCD/display panel is in short circuit, as I saw the connector from the LCD burned as well.

And the resistor L4004 is literally burned.

From what I see from the schematics, it does not affect any other rails, only the connection to the display...

MacBook A1989 overheating after liquid damage
    by Jenzo
    Hey everyone,

Had a MacBook pro 13" 2018 (A1989) come in for liquid damage. The only liquid damage was all around UB400. It was most likely soda, so there wasn't that much corrosion. I reflowed the UB400 and the QB chips with some flux, and replaced the caps/resistors that were in bad shape. Seemed to be working fine at first, but the next day when testing it again, the laptop charges and boots fine, the CPU would overheat, and U7210 would get to 70 degrees Celsius as well. I'm testing with only screen and battery connected at this point.

    I can't figure out how...
