Thinkpad P1 Gen3 LCD Cable shorted, now no power

    Hello,

While diagnosing a No Video issue (which i believe was the LCD, since with HDMI screen there would be video no problem) i, being the ret*** that i am, unplugged the EDP cable while the machine was powered on.
As result, it turned off, never to turn on again. There's no Fans, no power LED, no charging LED, not a single sign of life.

Whenever i power the board, being it by plugging the battery or the AC, the only thing that happens is the ThinkShield chip overheating to level unbearable to touch.
I fingered every other component on the board very meticulously, that chip is the only thing warming up.

I attach below the Board View, can anyone help me diagnose? I checked already the mosfets in the vicinity of both the connector and the chip itself, none seem shorted.

Thanks [MOD EDIT] Link to boardview --> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-lpm-3-19770-1

Probably a dead SIO chip (ThinkShield)
Better off look for a replacement motherboard because even if you replaced the SIO there is no SIO programmer support that chip.
