toshiba satellite c855-s5352

southbridge is overheating
laptop turns off after 5-10 mins

board has no short

voltages surrounding and under sb is 0/1.8/5v

any ideas whats causing the heat?

check USB ports for shorts, also measure data pins with multimeter in diode position. you shold see a value like 500~600 ohms. if lower, then your south is broken.

This is a intel mobo.
Try another CPU.
I seen this type of Toshiba doing crazy things because of the CPU.
If not go for a proper reflow
