Can you please tell me from which MacBook models the display can be used to test the MacBook A2141 820-01700 board?

Personally - I would search out for a working but locked board of the same model. Then test your display against that new board. My suspicion is that the display is not compatible. Returning one now back to XJS - causing power cycling everytime we connect the connectors. -
Curious - are you able to monitor the voltage & current draw WITH this display attached? With the unit from XJS, we were peaking to ~700mA and then power cycling. From iFixit forum, this cleary indicates the display had the incorrect or missing firmware for the T-con board. Now we are paying $30 + # of hours to ship this crap display back to China with an ETA of 2 months and then they will inspect the display and issue a refund only then. All because someone there did not test the display before shipping. BTW - we also ordered a unit from Seven Puppy because they claim that TRUETONE will work 'out of the box' and their display worked immediately. No idea about the Truetone support as we do not have the client's passwords for checking this feature.Comment

Why am I asking because I also bought a new display but I don’t get any images, but all measurements show that there should be a picture but there isn’t! thank you very much for your answer! I thought that since almost all MacBooks have clones with an interchangeable display, I thought that this model also had something similar!Comment

The data from the USB tester corresponds to the normal operation of the MacBook and does not overload! everything works well but there are no pictures on the displays! For now I stick to your idea of finding a working motherboard or display that I can see for myself that it works! but 16" costs a lot of money!Comment

Even locked ones? I think there is some dude in Hungary that is advertising on Ebay for assorted mac stuff. I was pinged by a very large wholesaler from Europe to fix macbooks - I may have his contact details still. I think they purchase stuff from Costco, etc. for their returns with password protection.Comment

I've never bought a 15" or 16" display from China as they are so expensive. The refurbishers here buy MDM/iCloud locked machines on eBay and steal the displays off them. The displays are genuine and works out cheaper than a display from China (if it works).
I'd just check the EDP_INT_AUX lines in diode mode, as sometimes U9850 gets damaged.
I also see the refurbishers are swapping IC's between displays when replacing LCD only on the newer models.Comment

Have to ask..are you confident of your soldering of this mux? Also following your thread on the Rossmann forum on the same topic. With even a locked but working board, you can compare diode mode measurements. Not sure if the boardview files offer these measurements but worth a search.Comment

It was with this problem that the MacBook arrived with a dead u9850 and it was replaced three times! All indicators in all modes correspond to measurements! then I bought a new display but there is no picture either, but what doesn't work? I wonder if there is a problem on the display or a problem somewhere on the motherboard!
if you are interested in how the repair is going:Comment

by ledbylightHi all!
This is my first post and also one of my first "deep dives" into electronic repair. I'm used to doing basic tasks with computers, like SSD/CPU replacement, thermal past re-application, etc. So here's the story...
I have a MacBook Air M1 that I bought to repair (I know, I'm weird; though I'm a CompSci major and want to learn more, and it will not display anything on the internal display. I have verified that there's no backlight, as I booted the laptop and shined a flashlight on it and there's no display; it does completely boot up, and shows fine on an external...
