I have an hp eliteboiok 8730w,all of a sudden the bios would need date etc resetting on evey boot,i thought no probs just change the coin cell, upon inspection the cell holder was hanging from the mainboard on the battery ground side,i need to know where to jumper/connect a wire to make the bios work as normal, therefore i need a schematic+ the boardview if poss,i cannot see any remains of a pad or track so need another ic etc to ground the coincell too, thanks in advance.

by mkdjHello everyone,
Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.
Tests already made:
- Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
- I have removed... -
by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell... -
by code shareHi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.
Here's what I've tried so far:- Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
- Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
- Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage
- Battery

by Syph1979Hi all. First post here, so I hope I'm getting this right and operating in the spirit of things here.
I've been working on consoles for a while now. Always learning and trying new repairs, but I have one that has been stumped and I wondered if anyone with more experience could help?
I picked up a PS5 from eBay recently. It was described as not having the disc drive, but it was also a no power unit. On testing it was clearly an issue with the supply (no 12v), so I replaced that and then when I inserted the power lead, I got 3 beeps. So far, seems all related. As I was... -
by coasterghostFor Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.
