Ok - believe I finally have the proper schematic that matches the silk screening showing in your posted pics.

See attached. Locate the current sense resistor and carefully measure if you can read ~20v to ground. Ground is the large copper area of the logic board.

Red meter probe on the resistor; black meter probe on the copper area. Meter should be in 30V or higher DC volts scale. This check will confirm that the power path is ok up to here before it reaches the battery charger @ U1 = BQ24780S.

After the above check -> locate the square black chip with a 'BQ' topside marking and then share pics of this region. We need to check if the power path is ok at this charger IC.

    I can only find 0.9
I'm not sure really to look i looked by the coils and keyboard connector
when I plug the charger in I get 0.1v at the Ethernet and power button light and they flash
    sorry I'm not so experienced

The first picture is the closest fuse to the input jack so I think that it is DC_PWR20_F
It has continuity and 20v both sides
The second two are by the battery connectors they both have continuity but no voltage on either side
    I can't seem to find DOCK_DCIN20

    Hello and welcome.

There are few fuses onboard - be sure to check if they are blown or not. Remove all power. Meter in diode mode. Short your meter probes and there will be a tone beep. Touch the probes across each of the fuses to confirm if they are ok or are blown.

Do you have a voltage @ VREGIN20 side ? Connect your adapter, meter in DC volts scale of 30v or higher -> measure the voltage to ground on each side of the fuse(s). This will also confirm if the fuse(s) are blown or not. Red meter probe on the fuse; black meter probe to ground (metal shield is ok on the logic board). Proceed with caution since the board is (partially) alive.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
    by PantherDave
    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
    by GLISIT
    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Lenovo 15iml05 Power led lights for 12 seconds then off 12 seconds
    by liquidzorch
Hello. I bought a faulty Lenovo ideapad 3, but it turns out the 3Valw buck converter burnt a hole through the board. I was able to clean it up, and remove all the shorts. I now can power the 3.3v rails from a bench power suppy while connecting the laptop to its psu, and I get the additional 5valw, 1.8v, and 1.05v, form what I can tell in the schematics, those are the only 4 voltages I should see before turning on, and they are present. When I hit the power button, the power indicator on the left side turns on (not the one on the power button), stays on for about 12 seconds, then turns off for...
