    Samsung NP550 No Chaging

    Samsung NP550p07c-s05uk
    Hi all I have a Np550 that I have in for repair with a faulty charging socket

    After replacing the socket, With charger in,the charging light will come on but the battery will not charge or turn the laptop on

    if I charge the battery on another laptop the laptop will power on !!!
    but if I insert the charger it will show it is charging but it doesn't it loses power until it go's off

    i will post a video as soon as i have uploaded to youtube

      Thats one strange problem you've got there? Have you checked the charger IC?

        Never had to test one! Could you offer advise on where it's located and how to test it

          post some pics( macro) of the board.
          find some chips like maxim; those makes the battery charge.
          Just cook it! It's already broken.

                  the pic nr 4 you see there BQ735 post the voltage from that chip.

                    on pin 1 with battery & charger in but laptop off 11.81v

                    pin 1 no battery just charger and laptop off 1.08v
                    with battery in and charger removed laptop off 11.8v

                            you need to trace from the power pin(V+) to this chip maybe something its culprit
                            Just cook it! It's already broken.

                              the pin to the left of pin 1 is at 18.5volt and a resistances of only 590 ohms from the V= on the dc socket

                                  If you could find a schematic that would help.
                                  Just for my curiosity could you measure the voltage at the coil. With Battery in/without AC, then plug in your AC and measure again.
