Macbook M1 pro 820-02098 no backlight after UP800 (RAA209100B1) replacement

    Hi,

I liquid damaged a Macbook, disassembled it and spotted short near UP800. After desoldering it short was gone so I ordered the chip from https://aliexpress.com/item/1005005500396324.html.
Laptop is turning on, I can see something on the display if I flash strong light at it.
After replacing the chip, there is still no backlight. I measured components near the chip on both sides of the board again but everything seems fine.
Next I measured voltages near the chip, there is 5V, 1.2V, also 2.5V on LUXE_C_VDD (seems like it's internally generated by the chip, since only two components connected to that line are the chip and capacitor).
LUXE_FAULT line has 1.1V not sure if that means that fault was detected or not.
No voltage is being generated on LP800.

I noticed that the chip has debug I2C interface. Can something be learned if I would sniff this traffic?
Any Ideas what could I check next?

    Thanks!

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
    by DynaxSC
    Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

Requesting help identifying chip in Macbook Pro A2485
    by Loki_Fido
    Hi ya folks,

I have this MacBook Pro A2485 (M1 Pro 2021) which came in for repair.

It had a shorted SSD power supply chip. Therefore it was stuck at 5V.
I replaced it and the SSD are fine. No more shorts.

But The mac still pulls 5V and 200mA. If i leave it alone for 5 mins, the mac manages to receive 20V and 40mA. Of course, which doesnt mean the mac starts after power meter reading 20V.

But while the mac is stuck at 5V, i checked the board with thermal and found this chip was trying to start. Chip picture is attached.
    Chip marking...

    Asus laptop EC/SIO chip replacement
    by ebugs
Asus Vivobook 15 (board X513ea R2.0) gone dead when user plugged an iPhone cable into the USB-C port during boot. Now there's no LED light, no power at all. I checked all MOSFETs and capacitors, no shorts found. The board only has 3.3V and 5V present, no other voltages.

I injected 3.3V into the EC chip power rail (ITE IT5125VG 128), and it draws 80mA, while the 3.3V LDO chip RT8249C has a max output of 100mA. I checked the boardview and found there are only two chips on this 3.3V rail, EC and Realtek audio chip. So I think EC could be the problem.

    I found the EC chip...

MacBook Pro 14". The screen DP chip failed.
    by SSBDADC234

When replacing the screen of this MacBook model, the DP855A chip must be moved from the existing screen for the screen to operate properly.
However, when I removed the DP855A chip from the existing screen, I must have done something wrong and the chip broke.
Testing the chip pins with a multimeter revealed a short circuit inside the chip.
Is it impossible to repair this? I couldn't find a programmer for this chip, nor any eeprom programmer software....

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
    by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...
